For anyone else with a Dragon's Lair, Space Ace or really most any other laser disc game.

The new Dexter board combined with the Merlin-DX is fantastic. No more laser disc player!!
I put the Dexter and Merlin in my Dragon's Lair cabinet and choose the game with a scrolling menu.
Way cool. Soon to update adding Dragon's Lair II .
Thanks to Matt Ownby and Shaun Wood for their incredible work.

Quoted from PACMAN:

Are they planning another Dexter run?

Not that I have heard officially but there are a number of folks I've seen asking.
Email him, he may be keeping a list??

Quoted from Dutchman2009:

Since Dexter is not available anymore I fail to see how it is a useful product for those who just discovered it

I'm not certain that's a fair analysis. I don't know of anything specifically barring Matt from offering another run of the boards expect for the amount of work involved and the number of Laser Disc owners willing to fork over for one. He needed 100 pre-orders this past January to make this run of boards. I'm not sure what the total production was. I don't know the number of users remaining who want one, that's why I suggested to email him for those that are interested.

Shaun Wood is apparently taking names for a waiting list on Merlin-DX boards.

It was only 11 months ago the initial Dexter pre-order was offered. I wouldn't be surprised to see another, but I'm sure it would have to be enough people to make it worthwhile.

I almost want one, just in case I get one of these someday.

I thought I would revive this thread for anyone interested in a Dexter board. Not sure if there will be a future run.
It looks like 2 are still available.
Reserve yours here:

With the Merlin-Dx board added to the Dexter, you can have all versions of Dragon's Lair, Dragon's Lair II, and Space Ace on one machine.

Did you email Matt about it? Just wondering if he might have a suggestion on that issue?

Quoted from Jam_Burglar:

Could be a board problem?

That's what I was thinking. Want to make sure that the actual disc is not damaged. They do get laser rot.
Or that it could be setting to the right laserdisc player emulation.

Would a Merlin board help in this case?
http://wood1st.com/LaserCon/Games/MACH3.htm

Don't know if it would help but there is a Mach 3 board on eBay pretty cheap. Not sure at all if it's what is used in the game.
