Really wish someone would make a playfield for this. Anyone got one sitting around? This question got me a star gazer thanks to the great Cottonm4! So it never hurts to ask

Very excited for this to finally be done. I will be one of those builders... BUT I will be waiting for beehive pinball to produce the playfields.
My experience
I had to ask mirco 3 times to send my quicksilver order 3 weeks after it was supposed to be sent. I asked for a refund and when I did he sent the quicksilver playfield. Not the best business practice.
So the question is do I make a DF or SG first?
Quoted from TigerLaw:So, when you guys do these scratch builds, do you get all new cabinets made (like HEP frequently does) or do you mostly use a donor cabinet and clean it up? I guess it is different person to person, but what seems to be the most common approach?
Project Meteors. Have all 3 bank drop target mechs for star gazer and dragonfist. Found a big game project to turn into cheetah. Found a lectronamo populated playfield to use for split second project (3 bank, 5 bank)
Quoted from cottonm4:Big Game is a great pin. New play fields are now available.
For Cheetah, you will need a 5 position MEMORY drop target. That you get from a Trident, or a Cheetah.
Yes, which I got from a trident playfield
I gave in and bought a mirco. So far so good. Got the GI wired up and put a some parts on. I'm not one to make a game 100% original, so I put some Yellow posts and different target faces. I also used bally rebound switches (had a huge lot of them) cleaned them up and added the target face in front of it. Doing this going forward with similar switches on the next star gazer build. Kind of want to get creative with a spinner decal, maybe Mushu from Mulan haha

I found them in my old stash of drop targets. Had the same plastic slit like on other stern DTs, but only had 2
As I'm looking through manual and schematics, there isn't a clear indication of what position the stand up targets are in. Schematics show su #1-9 but no map of them. Didn't see any pictures in this thread either. Could someone share their findings? Would be useful for other builders as well. Thanks
On and off for around 14 hours today. Feels good to get the most tedious part of any scratch build done. Got majority of lights and all rows and columns wired up. Yes, all the lights are the same Yellow color wire. Yes, all the switches are the same green color. In my head If the schematic is accurate then I really don't need the different wire colors....done this a few times before as well.

Plus a question on how you addressed the nla carriage bolts at the slings and drops…looks like there are lock nuts here at the slings. Did you cut your own screw rods to size?
[quoted image]
I'm almost done been working on it today about to post pictures. I had enough large screw rods that luckily were long enough for me to put lock nuts under. I'm not a fan of the carriage bolts.
Hi, The Dragonfist is so close to being finished. A few things on the coin door and featire lights in the panel are what is left . The customized AI art is finally finished and is incredible. Got drop target and spinner artwork as well.. Will be at the Cleveland Pinball and Arcade show in September!

If so, are you experiencing any pooling issues around the posts?
Yes it is a mirco. So far I haven't, I bought the playfield in November 23' so I am not sure when the pooling can start happening
Quoted from emsrph:Scratch builders- were you able to shoehorn a drop bank with switches on the back? Only bottom pf pic I could see was from SMP14 [quoted image]
I cut a space out of the wood that was attatched to the inside of the cabinet to make it fit. The 9 ball i made was the same way when I got that cabinet. Have to adjust somethings when frankensteining...but I really like those drop target switches you shared. Been looking for something like that my frankencosmic gunfight, drop target switches
