This will be my second Dragonfist (though I'm still waiting for playfield harness to finish the first).
This is for a client, and I'll use a supplied Meteor for the donor machine.
Nice, non abused cabinet (with worn out pf).

I'll be using a Micro playfield, which I got a month or 2 ago.

I had a paint issue when applying the white paint over the base color. It developed cracks when curing. When I returned to the KOI paint center, they said it was a binder issue. I've never had this.
Needless to say, I'll be sanding this off, and trying again.
They gave me free paint, sandpaper, and clearcoat to make up for it.

Target parts came today. Easy to make the same targets that Stern used on DF with parts from Pinball Resource. I buy standard targets and pair them with these yellow faces.

Back to base color. Going to apply the white painted graphics again tomorrow.

You can get the blank round-top switches from PBL. https://www.pinballlife.com/target-switch-no-target-face.html

They fit the round notch on those square targets perfectly.

Nice, I didn't see those.
New stencils applied, let's try this again.

I played dragonfist for the first time this weekend. Very fun game. Keep up the good work!

These 3 drop units from the Meteor will be perfect for the DF. Even the old style drops are still here, so I can clean and dye them the correct color of red (as these are not available).

Just curious what kind of dye you use for the drop targets? I am working on a quicksilver would like to repaint. Looks good!

#21 74 days ago

I use Rit. Works great

The color looks great, do you paint the S on them or leave as is?

#23 74 days ago

No S on DF targets. They are plain red.
All drop unit parts are cleaned, stripped, primed, and painted.

Red targets are a must for this game. Look so good.

Quoted from Jjsmooth:

I really love the look of the red drop targets, I am thinking of doing it for Quicksilver. There is enough red accents in the game that I think it would look cool and break up the green better than the white. I have Swinks red pop rings as another accent.

#27 72 days ago

Topside pretty much complete. Still gotta swap the yellow skirt for a red one.

Nice work on the build and I was going to suggest in my tombstone drop target thread about dye colouring the targets with Rit Dyemore - which I use with great results for various plastic parts - nice work.

Bottom of pf almost ready for harness install. I remove the drop units to make room.
