This is my custom dragon Ball z pinball machine I have been working on for almost 3 months pretty much non-stop after work, it's a mostly em pinball with some solid state flare from Amazon to help out with timing certain relays so I can get away from using a stepper it has a combination of MP3 triggers and chimes I got all of my pinball specific mechanisms and parts from pinball life, what really got it going quickly was having a WPC donor cab. I fired it up yesterday and after a few head scratchers I'm proud to say it's fully functional the way I designed it. Now I've got to work on getting that second playfield with art finished and getting a translite.

Rules: pretty simple rules here all the orange targets stand for one dragon Ball on the backboard if you hit those the dragon Ball lights up and holds if you get all seven you get an extra ball white targets pull in a chime and score a point or I can tie them to a different circuit that decrements a point under the playfield using a Pac-Man connector, I went super simple with a single point scoring system so I designed shots to score multiple points with multiple switches-the left side is made for a captive ball that isn't there, for instance that shot will score 3pts same for the top loop- the main feature is super Saiyan mode you have to make all three DBZ Lanes up top and then shoot Goku the GI will turn yellow and the spinners will be enabled which is huge points on my scoring system.

Here's the two pics I submitted for the twipys, the game has changed some. The top loop now gives you 2x "kioaken" scoring for a bit while turning on some red lights for effect, I added a left red stab target to reset this timer once activated. Opened up some tight shots and so on. Haven't had a whole lot of time to focus on art but I did experiment with some acrilic paint pens on the PF

I got around to making some clear plastics from lexan, they were a bitch to shape up, I simply traced the paper I cut up to the lexan-tin sniped them as close as possible then shaped them with a bench grinder, super messy. I tried high speed routers and and drywall saws with carbide plastic cutting bits but it just melted the edges. I should be able to scan these and start playing around with Photoshop and have them printed on new laser cut ones somewhere when I'm ready. I have also added an adjustable ball save to the game a different scoring mode and I'm trying to maybe convert a slow score motor so I can parallel lights for an attract mode, but I'm thinking about just using a pre-programmed light chaser board

Quoted from bingopodcast:

Very nice work - I notice no trip relays? Are you using coils that can be powered on for a long period of time (without melting the coil/plastic)?

Yes they're all constant duty rated

Decided to put an "attract mode" on the game it's kinda hilarious. I made essentially a score motor to control it with wpc N/O switches. Simply paralleled the inserts and some different gi strings

Slowly putting some art on the playfield, all free hand. I have since colored in his eyebrows haha, I'm going to draw a kamehameha wave shooting up the inserts

Something has to break after about 500 plays right?

This is insane and hilarious. Great work!!!
I enjoy the utilitarian resolve of your approach.

Haha yes, all those normally open EOS switches no one ever changes made it possible.
