Go into switch edge and hit the drop target with the ball. It should register, my guess it your drop target switch needs to be adjusted to the drop target closes it. that spring doesnt look right, and that drop target takes alot of abuse, I would make sure everything is in order on it. If video mode is not lit, and you shoot a ball it should drop the target, and it should pop right back up to block off the video mode orbit.

Well i guess that is the problem, the ball hits the target but nothing happens... The switch is working, that i can see, maybe something is stuck or incorrectly mounted, how can i check this?

Thanks

looks like its time to take it off for a good inspection and cleaning.

the drop target spring looks as if it is loose and/or attached to the assembly bracket incorrectly? sorry, no pics and I'm not at home.

You can't just do a visual inspection. You will need to do a continuity test with a multimeter to verify if the contacts on the switch are making a good connection.

Also, if it's a leaf switch, to clean the switch contacts, I usually drag an index card between the contacts a few times until it stops leaving black streaks. If it's a micro switch, you may just have to replace it.

If a continuity test works, but switch hits aren't detected, then do a continuity test from the switch to the MPU.

JPScranton pretty much told you everything you need to know. You said the switch works, but how did you test it? Did you manually drop the target to ensure it actuates the switch?

Thanks guys

My main question is, when the ball hits the target, the target needs to go down and up? Because nothing is happening when the target is hit...

the drop target should always go down when hit. it's a mechanical action that drops it, and then an electromechanical action that raises it. if the target never drops, you'll need to figure out what is causing it to bind. even with a bad spring, it should slowly drop from gravity alone

Your drop down spring (#17) shows signs of being stretched. Usually this is done in a latch ditch effort to get a worn or broken spring to work, someone will cut off a bit of the spring, then stretch it. they dont often last long after this and I can almost guarantee it was done because the drop was gunked up and binding. Time to get it apart, replace #7,#17, and any other pieces that show wear. The software will compensate for a non working drop target by using the rollovers to trigger the skill shot (and which gargoyle it stops on). However if your drop never goes down you will not have a video mode.
