some pics in the thread would help. DW is a machine ( like most now days) that is rising in price.

I have a DW with a factory mounted moving Dalek head as well. Dated in September of 1992. What month are the inspection dates in yours?

I'm not sure many of us here on Pinside are qualified to give you a price estimate for the game in France. The two biggest things to consider in a pin value is condition and location. Most of us don't know anything about prices in your location.

There were 90 or so "Sample Games" made with the moving Dalek head. This is one of those. Pretty cool! Good luck with the sale, it's an awesome game.

I just picked up a DW and doing a full restore. How hard is it to make the head move? Is it worth it?

Quite easy. There's an outfit that sells a kit for like $299. You won't get that back on resale. So, do it if you enjoy it.

This is just my uninformed opinion, but I doubt anyone will give you all that much more for the machine because it's a sample or early unit or whatever. Only someone who's never going to play it or is a huge DW fanatic will honest care. Moving topper is cool, so maybe a little bonus, but it's really just gonna be a way to attract attention. Condition is way more important.

I can't speak to France, but if it helps at all to compare here in CA where games run on the pricey side you can find a DW for $2300 without too much trouble. And that's an up-to-date, post crazy prices assesment.

You can still find them for under 2k here in CA without much trouble. DW seems to be one of those rare DMDs where the recent price explosion did not affect it too much when compared to other comprable (sp?) games.
