I am looking for a Dr Dude Big Shot figure. I have heard they are hard to find. I do know a guy that can make molds of the figure for reproduction. I am talking to him now to see if he can do it without a figure. Any links or places I can call please post them up. thanx

Wow. Can any one say "reproduction"?

Must be easy enough to cast one.

Surprising there are so many of these missing ...

Provided you HAVE one.

If I would have got it I would have had backallycreations make a remanned one. 152.50 was the exact price it went for. There is things you have to walk away from and that is one of them for me.

Could these be made on a 3-D printer or something? I could absolutely paint them if I had blanks to start with. We need to figure out how to make some of these things, because the price on the NOS ones is getting ridiculous.

#11 10 years ago

They are not a decal they are a plastic figure.

#12 10 years ago

Check out this item I found on eBay: ebay.com link: link some good pics of how it looks if listing is still there.

#13 10 years ago

Has some good pictures of what it looks like. It was in good shape too.

#14 10 years ago

Links no good my bad. Sent link on my phone

#15 10 years ago

I guess what really surprises me is that nobody has tried to make a reproduction figure. Someone out there is holding back I am sure of it.

#16 10 years ago

I have 2x Dudes and both have the figure.

"Wish I was closer" and I'd send you one to copy.

I would pay for shipping let me know how much.

#18 10 years ago

I have a NOS DD Big Shot. I have loaned my NOS stuff before for repo... and it didn't come back NOS.

I'm happy to help in this hobby, but... I'm reluctant to.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks
Kerry

Is there anybody on Pinside with the knowledge/time/desire to do this kind of repro? I'd volunteer, but sadly know nothing about the process or legal ramifications, if any. I'd sure be first in line to buy one though!

Lol, I owned a Dr. Dude that I bought with some "alternative" figure installed for the Big Shot before I knew any better. Guess what? It was just as fun as an "original" Dr. Dude. Get a grip people...

You're right - it's just as much fun... but some of us are crazy...

My Big Shot guy had no arms. Given the high cost of a replacement I decided on a compromise. I cut the arms off a plastic (Kung Fu) sports trophy...

Not OEM, but one of a kind

Backalleycreations here in Indiana is willing to make a repo. If anyone sends it to them

#26 10 years ago

I would love to see what everyone has instead of the factory Big Shot. I'm sure there are some pretty funny ones out there!

Do eeeet.

#27 10 years ago

Here check them out http://backalleycreations.com/ I had them make a custom ball for my fireball home model it came out great. Good work.

#28 10 years ago

Lest some of you have the big shot mixed breed version lol. I don't have one and the arm is broke also. Once I get the figure I can buy the arm.

#29 10 years ago

Also mad amusements had them for sale at one point. They are out of stock now and I have signed up on the waiting list. I may give them a call and see if they plan on getting more. They were selling them for 15 bucks.

I did hear that not too long ago they were easy to come by and pretty cheap, but the supply ran out...

I took one for the pinball team to stop this crazy pricing. I bought it. As soon as I get it it's going to back alleycreations to be reproduced. I don't know any prices or if it can be done but I will keep the dr dude community informed as things happen.

Thanks for taking the plunge! Keep us informed. I'd be into one even if it was a paint-it-yourself deal.

#37 10 years ago

Should be at my house between may 9 and may 22nd lol. I can't wait.

#38 10 years ago

Item marked as shipped yay!

#39 10 years ago

wouldn't they have to have the rights to make it though and sell to public?

#40 10 years ago

Not sure. Will find out when I get the figure today and when I contact the guy.

You found the missing upper half of my Big Shot! I'd sure take him if you don't need him!

#45 10 years ago

OK , lets see. The new one is $149 and I only have half so that's $74.50, but mine is used so that knocks it down to $54.50 and I don't have any use for it so that lowers it to $34.50 but with your pinsider discount, I would say that would make it $10 shipped??? Will that work?

The seller has opened a case with USPS. The big shot should have been here already. The postal service is trying to find it. I am scared I am being scammed. I am going to look into this later.

And if no one minds a small hi-jack, I'm looking for a mint apron.
My Dr. Dude has a perfect and clear coated PF, and my apron has a couple dings. I need perfection, so if you've got a spare and minty apron, I need it! PM me.

#50 10 years ago

The guy I bought the big shot from said he also has other parts. Nos tranlite and 2 other plastics. He didn't mention anything about a apron.
