I would just hold tight to your funds for now.
Once you hear an official explanation, THEN proceed with caution.

I would just hold tight to your funds for now.
Once you hear an official explanation, THEN proceed with caution.
Quoted from pinghetto:In all fairness... I guess the part that concerns me the most is... The longer DP waits to respond to this... They are going to loose people hitting that "retry" button for their past payments.
They might not even know yet. It's a weekend and they are 6 timezones away.
Phil probably did not want to pay any taxes on the amounts, so he simply refunded the funds, rather than transfer them to DP and have it look like income.
Quoted from pinghetto:So what now??? How do I get my refund?? Who do I contact? Because (as Barry's letter stated), a dispute with Paypal is not possible.
Assuming you paid Paypal with a credit card, bypass Paypal and file a dispute directly with your credit card company.
Most credit card companies give you 6 months to dispute.
Quoted from taylor34:Do you mean they couldn't get ahold of ZZ top or didn't know it was ZZ top singing it? Pretty sure that's who's doing it in the movie.
There are 2 versions of Viva in TBL.
The worst version of Viva Las Vegas in the world:
The other version :
Quoted from boo32:I think it is now too late for him to take the high road and say that he tried to get dp to do things the right way.
It's never too late to make things right with the world before you check out.
Quoted from Nilroc:The $10,000 for the Kahlua seems like not a bad deal considering they paid nothing for the Brunswick rights. Say they have 200 preorders that's just $50.00 a machine.
They can"t afford to do that to keep the authenticity of the machine.
$50 a machine is more than they paid for the movie rights.
Might not make the most sense to pay that much to advertise Kahlua.
Quoted from Concretehardt:One would think Kahlua would of looked at this as free advertising.... They want to sell their shit right?
Although it might be fun to think of Kahlua as being a tiny Mexican company, they are actually owned by the monster Pernod Ricard company that controls the entire world of spirits. Absolute, Beefeater, Chivas Regal, Jameson, Seagrams.....it's all owned by the French.
For the tiny amount of advertisement resulting from 500 pinball machines produced, it would probably be more of a nuisance than any additional sales.

Brunswick, on the other hand, is a much smaller company that still builds "Family Entertainment Centers" that have arcades in them.
Quoted from kvan99:Call me a skeptic but we only have half of the story....as far as I'm concerned this could have been resolved behind closed doors like gentlemen. However by outing the problems like this Phil may have killed off a promising new pinball company.
It looks like Phil tried to cut his ties to DP for quite a while before finally refunding the money out of frustration.
Anyone battling cancer sees things in a different light.
I'm sure he does not want to check out and leave his family with some legal mess.
I'm sure he does not want the year to end with it looking like he has millions in income on his books.
I'm sure he does not need the stress of DP's adventures during his cancer treatment.
Like they always say:
"Just because a guy is an ace mechanic, does not mean you want him running the garage....".
Quoted from pinballslave:Can't they just make the game with a bad voice-over to get it out of the door, and then buyers can change the voices to Goodman's voice using one of the various clever software tools out there... I didn't say that...
Sure, just like people change the songs in Metallica, it could be easily done.
Someone might even release a secret torrent file that has the entire soundtrack with bands that are generally never licensed (like CCR, Santana, Eagles and others that are missing from the movie soundtrack CD), and replaced movie quotes.
Quoted from kaneda:how is 10K too much money to secure the Kahlua license?
I'm sure everyone is glad they DID NOT spent $10,000 on the Kahlua license.
That would be $10,000 that the **investors** would not be getting refunded.
Quoted from examiner:- There's no evidence out there that Dutch Pinball US (or DP USA) or anything remotely similar to that exists as a legal entity. I think it's just a d/b/a of the parent Dutch company (which is a privately held, limited liability entity with 3 partners).
Everyone keeps saying "dissolve the corporation....run the corporation....1/3 of the corporation" but why are there no incorporation documents registered?
Quoted from Rossz:You build a business plan, you pitch banks, you get loan(s), and then you start! Sounds easy ? Sure it's not, but that's the way business do (usually).
Contrary to popular belief, banks are NOT in the venture capital business.
Since 95% of all new businesses fail within 3 years, there would not be a single bank left if they lent you money to throw down the toilet.
Banks will loan you 50% of your collateral, so if you have $200,000, they might loan you $100,000.
