Wow, this is a helluva thread with a lot of dirt. I really hope DP succeeds, this pinball is too good to not be released. Also if it's really true that BTTF is their next title, I REALLY don't want them to fail.

If what Phil has said on here is true, he's got guts posting it on a public forum. There's gonna be a lot of cleaning up to do.

Quoted from DreamTR:

Do people think this would not get back to Universal???

They've had a letter on their website for the last year:
http://www.thebiglebowskipinball.com/pdf/DP-UPL-Press-Release.pdf

However it doesn't really say they "have it", it states that they "will partner". Since Phil's name is on that letter, and Phil is not part of the company (and he's been revealing the truth all over this thread), it begs the question whether the license is truly secured.

While we've only heard one side to this story, the fact that barry and Jaap aren't coming on here to defend themselves implies guilt does it not? If these were lies, wouldn't they want to defend themselves?

When will DP respond?

Quoted from r6emperor:

Dear VIPs,

We want to reach out to you about the current situation involving the rumours on Pinside. We are aware of the thread and the worries over Dutch Pinball and The Big Lebowski project. It really hurts us that you are involved in this situation, which is something that should be settled in a professional, business manner. Unfortunately, we had no control over our customers being involved and we regret what is happening now. We want to assure you that we are very busy handling this situation privately and in the best possible way without discrediting anyone. As soon as we can share more information publicly, we will do so.

We know there has also been some recent speculation regarding the status of our very exciting pinball project and want to assure everyone that everything is under control without any problems. To that end, we have brought in Roger Sharpe, acclaimed licensing and marketing expert, to help us as we continue with our final approval process. Roger has extensive experience having worked on all of the Williams and Bally pinball licensing for over 12 1/2 years and his personal relationships with all of the movie studios ensures that we are right on target to bring everyone the best possible pinball product. Our apologies for any concerns that had been raised but know we are still on course and will continue to meet our deadlines and promises.

Please keep in mind that we are the guys that brought three awesome prototypes to Expo in October and to Modern Pinball NYC last weekend. We wouldn't been doing that if we had any bad intentions or wanted to defraud anyone. The only reason this is happening now is because of something that shouldn't be discussed publicly.

Again, we want to make an awesome game - and with this going on, we are even more motivated to do so.

We will answer all of your emails in the next couple of days/weeks, but we first need to deal with this situation and keep our focus on getting you your games.

Team Dutch Pinball

Quoted from meSz:

Anyone correct me if I am misspeaking here.... Roger has a company that does licensing work (Sharpe Communications I believe) that is outside of WMS. So I am assuming that DP has hired Roger's company, Roger, to handle the licensing for TBL machine!

Quoted from badbilly27:

Let me help, for only $149 shipped in two days you can save thousands and have your rug in time for Xmas

amazon.com link »

Since it's sold by cafepress, I'm gonna assume that's simply a printed rug (IE a white rug with printing to look like a woven rug). Also 5 feet is too wide, it needs to be half that size for a single pin.

Quoted from Aurich:

The NY party was totally unnecessary and stupid. They had the games at Expo just a couple months ago, there was zero reason to fly them back to the US. That's not a free trip, it costs money

Pretty sure at least one machine stayed in chicago. Scott Denesi is local and he's working on code, need a machine to test out code.
http://www.thebiglebowskipinball.com/about_us

Of course that doesn't excuse 2 guys paying for airfare to fly back. I think the machine sells itself, why squander money to promote it?

That fucker is more than willing to cash the checks for being a gun-wielding lunatic on screen, but he's protective of his image in the supermarket?

Quoted from pinballslave:

My understanding is that the build quality and feel of the game resembles Bally/Williams games from peoples comments who played the prototypes

This.. Even roger sharpe said it played and felt like a williams machine on coast2coast pinball. I've played it, it's true. Really hope they get their act together and resolve management issues so this gets built.
