Lumps taken where lumps due : )
And you are being very one sided. As I have said before. You know darn well I have defended your points on service.
Regardless, after the fact I agree that anyone should say exactly how they feel. The best part is you are now all over this thread doing what you seem to be very pissed at me for. Its our vicious cycle.

Oh no. Not even close. I haven't said one word about the game. I am not a buyer. I don't like the theme. My only commentary on this entire thread was about your crying and hypocracy so don't even begin to lump me in with your trite behavior.

Regardless about my support which I do with a tremendous amount of pride is completely irrelevant in context. The bottom line is you spent a tremendous amount of time trolling JJP threads nit picking and poking everything about the company and the buyers of the game and now that it's done to you it's all QQ. So let's see if that behavior out of you continues. I suspect it will because once a.... Prove me wrong. I'll be happy in this instance to be wrong.

Apparently this game is planned to have 101 lit inserts!! Does anyone know if this means 101 separately controlled feature inserts?? If so, that's a lot!! and implies a pretty involved rule set...

Quoted from mnpinball:

DP is well on the way to create the same thing, but it's not proven yet. Once done then we can judge. Fair enough. But yes, medium-deep might be a better way to put it I'm not hating, just waiting.

By the way, on the flyer it specifically says "Deep rule sheet". Obviously it doesn't prove anything, but at least it makes their intention clear...

ahhh...well since you asked...yes, it does. 101 separately controlled inserts verified.

Well, I got my shirt, even though I'm out. Can I trade it in for my 5k?

Did pay pal change their policy or could a person jump back into TBL using PayPal and have buyer protection thru them for 180 days?

I

That is what I did.

Plus use your Amex through PayPal and you are really covered.

Does American Express give better buyer protection then Visa/MasterCard?

#2660 4 years ago

Amex's buyer protection rocks. You truly have an organization in your corner if something goes sideways.

Quoted from Concretehardt:

Way better

#2662 4 years ago

Agree, AX is the best way to go. The drawback to AX is they charge retailers higher fees than any other card company thus not all retailers accept AX.

#2663 4 years ago

Can you use American Express thru pay pal?

#2664 4 years ago

Yes

#2665 4 years ago

Looks like I'm signing up for an Amex card

#2666 4 years ago

So you guys are so concerned about fraud that you are going to use an Amex card to send more money to the possible fraud? Genius.

I've been out of this thread about 350 posts ago. Just checking in to see if anyone has gotten their requested refund. Thanks

Not through DP. A few have gotten some money either through a paypal or amex claim/dispute, but AFAIK, nobody has gotten a refund through DP actually processing it.

Very disappointing...... especially given that Barry just puts it all on Phil.

Yeah. They need to get these refunds sorted out sometime in the next few weeks, or at the very most, by the end of this month.

Perhaps its deserved.

#2672 4 years ago

I believe they are still trying to situate the DP USA branch that way they can get the ball rolling on refunds. It's not a quick process apparently.

obviously your not a business owner. You don't let your customers suffer at the hands of the people you decided to start a business with. You take care of your customers and get your shit together behind the scenes on your time and dime.

Well put. I don't care where they get the money from, that's their problem, I just want my refund.

inhomearcades is exactly right. It has now been a month and I still have not received my refund. I have heard from Barry several times with a bunch of bull stating "they are trying to figure it out," and then blaming Phil. I give them till the end of this week and I file a claim with Paypal. I have already spoken with Paypal and US Bank and they have assured me that they will take care of me. I do a ton of Paypal business with my company. I use Paypal as my credit processor. On occasion I have to issue refunds. It is a simple almost immediate process. It should not take a month.

Again, for those of you who think this is not a bad sign, I caution you.

If you're within the 45 days for paypal, just file a claim. That's how I got my third deposit back. My first two deposits were from back in july, though, so I'm stuck waiting until DP figures their shit out (I paid through paypal using my bank account, not a credit card). I suppose I could talk to my bank and possibly get those reverted, but I highly doubt it.

Obviously you're not a business owner. I've been an entrepreneur the majority of my life and very well know the slings and arrows. Shit happens in EVERY business does it not? You do your best to minimize the impact on your customers and make it up to them when things are resolved. And that's what I see Dutch Pinball doing.

I've never had a partner in any of my business's so I can only imagine the destruction a trusted associate could do as an intentional saboteur. Especially the guy controlling the money. (this is speculation)

I believe Dutch Pinball "is" taking care of their customers and working behind the scenes as best they can given this situation. And they are doing it on their time and dime but given the pre-paid business model the money part is kinda muddled.

You've implied you're a business owner. Kinda surprised you wouldn't know that.

I currently run 3 businesses, belong to 2 LLP, and reside on 3 boards. I know how to run small to medium sized businesses, most larger than DP. I would never let my company operate the way they do, maybe that is why all of my ventures have been successful.

Good for you.

DP = Not so good for any of their customers up until this point. I would put my money right back into the company if they could actually show that they have control of their business by refunding the money that we have been told from day one is always refundable. They have little control over their company, that should not be the customers problem. Handle your shit DP.

Aside from the pissing match of who owns a business and who doesn't, I'd submit you don't need to own a business to know how customers should be treated.

I could understand DP confusion in the DAYS following Phils departure. However, at this late date, one would think DP would have their shit together.

Let's be honest, we're not talking about rocket surgery here. This is not complicated accounting! There's what, a couple hundred customers? For chrissakes the whole damn thing could be organized on a single excel spreadsheet.

If people believe DP is somehow stymied by the complexity of all this weeks later, then you're kidding yourself OR the guys at DP don't own a calculator, a spreadsheet or an abacus.

It's all disappointing because I still LOVE the idea of this game. Loved the demo, loved the cocky attitude when they premiered it. I want one. I hope I can buy one in stock someday....

What Phil Said, after he started issuing refunds:

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/dp-usa-refund-still-want-the-game?tq&tu=phil-DP-usa

Any response from barry was quoted by others. I am not going to search through 30 pages to find and link to them. In short, Roger Sharpe has been hired to handle the license, some CPA dude is taking over the DP-USA account supposedly, the January Payments were due, and all refund requests made after Phil's initial refund spree are still outstanding awaiting resolution to the DP-USA mess.

Nothing yet, no games have been made and released.
Until then DP are on notice as far as I'm concerned.

Wonder where Phil went?

#2695 4 years ago

My concern is the same as yours. Especially when you post yours on a forum. Saying you are out is normal saying they are on notice is just funny.
On a serious note are you do a refund or still in?

Out until it is shipped to Australia with a distributor on board.

If people believe DP is somehow stymied by the complexity of all this weeks later, then you're kidding yourself OR the guys at DP don't own a calculator, a spreadsheet or an abacus.

The accounting issues should be relatively straightforward, and the CPA that they hired is a tax specialist, which may have been intentional, if some of the issues were tax-related liabilities. Figuring out where all the money went, or how it should be accrued and booked, is not that complicated.

The fact that the Company is still not issuing refunds almost a month later suggests that it's not simply an accounting issue. Liquidity is a finance issue. The business needs cash to: (a) survive (operating cash flows), and (b) refund customer deposits (financing cash flows). If there is not enough cash available to service both demands, they need to get more cash through an equity or debt infusion. This takes time, especially if the principals don't have deep pockets, because then you have to talk to external parties (e.g., banks, investors) who need to conduct their own due diligence and then hire lawyers to document the funding agreements. Due diligence and documentation are time-consuming processes, even for a company as small as DP.
