As a test I tried doubling up the return cone spring on my f14. I rely like how it snaps back to return, and the power and hold do not seem to be affected by the increased resistance. Has anyone done this, and is it safe? I don't see why it would be a problem but figured I'd ask before doing the other one.

It was designed for one spring, so I would keep it at one. Not sure if over time if the coil would be weakened. Maybe upgrade to the smaller side spring.

I would convert to the spring system used in WPC pins. Those cone spings stink unless you want to run them the way they left the factory.

I don't like conical springs for the same reasons. I've always converted to WPC linear springs when possible. Using two conical springs will only increase the chances of getting one of them stuck in the coil sleeve.

If you change to the WPC style spring and use a small L bracket attached to the screw that holds the flipper bracket to the play field you can then adjust the tension of the spring to your liking by slightly bending the L bracket.
