Hi there,
I just visited a pinball machine for sale in my area ... and there were two problems with it that I am not familiar with.
#1. When you turn the machine on there is a very loud (quick) electronic sounding squeal that comes through the speakers. It happens at the same time you would hear the bootup beep. It also gives the same loud squeal when you turn the machine off. What could this be?
#2. The bottom horizontal line of the dmd is actually up on the top line. The whole DMD is actually a bit dim when you first turn it on (probably starting to get outgassed) ... but then lights up fully pretty quick ... only that one line is misplaced. Ideas?
Finally ... there was a wire to one of the coin counters that detached ... and that the owner was fidgeting with to put credits into the machine. The coindoor self-test switches were not working at all. Did he disconnect them so I wouldn't see a bigger problem ... or is this all just a quick fix.
I am up for fixing these kind of problems ... only this is an expensive machine ... so I just want to make sure I am not in for problems that could lead to other (very expensive) problems ... like damaging boards and such.
The playfield is imaculate ... and the cabinet is stunning ... so is this buyer beware ... or simple to fix?
Thanks in advance,
Mark
