Thank you Doug. Your machines are looking amazing. Ive been watching your progress
Any chance this game could make it to MGC ? I know it is going to TPF , wish I could go I've heard it is a really great show , but it is just not going to happen for me this year . Would love to play Doom again .
you can always come down and play it at my shop haha. April is my busy season and I would never be able to take off to go to that show Sorry Doug
MGC is in Milwaukee , well brookfield to be more accurate . But yeah it is in april
Would love to check out the shop sometime though
Some of what I took
Impressions when playing it: No shooter lane is an idea whose time has come. Cool sounds, and you just can NOT get any idea of how fast those ball returns to the inlanes are until you play it. Fastest inlanes ever... faster than the fastest "power inlanes."
Great idea to use optos for the rollovers as well (not sure if any other game has done this)
It will be cool to see how this goes.
Steve Ritchie walks up as I start playing a three player game with another dude (we'd just accidentally started a three player) and we invite him to join us. Of course, that's when his ball got stuck and we had to stop the game
O.k. Pinball Universe...
All the blah blah blah about their "dream themes"...
Muppets, meh, scooby, meh....
I want a legit damn DOOM pinball!
Good game. Legit home brew. Too bad only one will be floating around. Thanks for bringing the game to tpf.
These homebrews are getting good enough that I question I could do something better just by myself.
That game was out of sight. I look forward to seeing the Op finish it as there is already a lot of sweat equity in the game. I want to play it with some head phones one day because I couldn't hear enough of the sound effects on the floor of TPF.
I would love to see some videos of it playing if you have any.
I think you have done an amazing job and it's a dream theme for me! I would love to have one in my games room!
I will say that fast has a new meaning after playing this DOOM machine. Very cool and well done. I am glad it was there and I had a chance to play it.

I'd love to see exactly how fast those inlanes are...

Think twice as fast as anything you've played and double that! I hope there is some good video posted to showcase the speed.

Quoted from cait001:How does it shoot? Shots look tight but DANG it looks good.
Ramps are pretty flowy, but beware the ramps because of the aforementioned fast ramp returns. When in doubt, flip early!

The returns are actually slower than you think due to the wireform zig-zags, the ball kind of floats down towards the flippers and then WHAM zips right past. Holding the flipper up for a sketchy rolling pass was the only thing that worked for me consistently. Combos are brutal.
Quoted from Bonnevil69:I really have to get doom setup and make a legit video
Hi Bonnevil69,
What is the most difficult or the most important for you in this project ?
Choosing a good theme !
Art playfield

Is it easy to work with P ROC ?
Congrats again for your pinball ... Just fantastic

Damn straight you do!

Dammit, man. You were so close to greatness, and then you were stymied by the difficulty of making the video. All that hard work down the tubes
Quoted from Bonnevil69:I really have to get doom setup and make a legit video
YEAH! Invite me over!
Quoted from DeadFlip:YEAH! Invite me over!
After I finish software. Then I will be ready for this kind of crazy. And I'm in the middle of moving into a new shop so stuff is everywhere at the moment
I wish I had time to go to MGC. Can't take time off of work. Next show I might be going to is Chicago expo in oct
Quoted from Bonnevil69:I really have to get doom setup and make a legit video
Only if it's first person shooter style from the ball's perspective.
Drool. I don't understand the technical details of your project but I know it's been a ton of hard work and it's very impressive.
Quoted from bangerjay:And invite me too
As long as you leave the green bikini at home. Haha
