Yes. I've been trying to think of a video mode and a way to control a players movement with pinball controls. Both buttons are 2 stage so that may be a way to make it not to awkward

Awesome, video modes shouldn't be too long so having the player locked in one place and just turning would be great. Just the sound of the switch, the walls opening and the growls as the horde is unleashed is a total flashback moment for me. Doom was an evolution in gaming, big part of why I got into the industry.
Bro that SHIT is AMAZING I've been collecting 16 plus years and that is the most BAD AZZ layout u have ever
This looks really incredible. Would love to see a gameplay video at expo since I cannot make that event.
Awesome work...looks sweet.
I wouldn't worry about the tight shots, I'm sure typing in "iddqd" and "idkfa" will make things much, much easier.
Dream theme for me. Looks great, can't wait to see more.
For anyone interested, the new Doom game (for PC at least) is absolutely fantastic.
ive been testing the sounds a lot lately, It will have a bit of doom 2016 music. Trying to find something from the games i can use for callouts. If its all just original doom it would end up being tons of screaming and snarling with gunfire. you would think that's an awesome combination but it gets annoying fast on a pinball machine
Quoted from Tech257:If you put in RIP AND TEAR it'll be perfect.
its in there already
Quoted from Bonnevil69:I also have the original doom music played with actual instruments sounds pretty crazy
YEP....I know exactly which mp3s you're referencing.
E2M1, E1M4, and the "map music" are required. Make it so!!!!

This is amazing work Bonnevil69! The theme and playfield layout and the art package are fantastic! Beautiful!
If I were headed to expo, I would love to play it.
Highly, highly impressed. Welding is something I would like to learn one day.
I forget, is 'B' for 'BFG' or for 'bingo'?

This sounds like another opportunity for a P-roc guy to pressure you into coming moohaha
Quoted from Chitownpinball:Wow. Another expo stop to make.
The P-ROC/P3 booth wasn't already on your plan?

How about something like the video mode on T2 or BSD where the player drops into a first person shooter mini-game?

Video mode could be this.
Always moving forward, left/right buttons let you strafe. Trigger or ball plunge shoots?

That would need three hands and might be too much.
In T2, the scope fires when it lands on a target.
In BSD, you have right fire and left fire as the wolves charge at the player

Triple points if you fire manually using your third hand
EDIT: crap, that totally should have been a rule in T2 when doing Super Jackpots

You could always put another button at belt level in the middle of the cab; kind of like what Python was planning for Pinball Circus.

Just install a 1/4" TS jack under the cab and you could use a momentary switch pedal (like for a keyboard/synth) and use your foot to activate it. You could also have another on the lockdown bar too. You could run a bar between the front legs to have a mount for it if you wanted it stationary/locked in place.

I guess it should be? I dunno, I go to expo for free play and to look at the home brew pins and (if the line isnt huge) play one. Everything else is just, eh.

Doom will be in the Multimorphic P3/PROC booth, along with Matts earlier game "Deadpin" and Buffy, and probably Josh's Casino game and The Kuglers, along with whatever else gets dragged out.

You can always have a second button each side, we have certainly seen that before.
I've seen this machine live, but did not get to play since it was in the process of being disassembled so the art could be applied. There are a ton of shots but they are all very tight, going to be a challenging game to play. The subway system is quite complex. And with the amount if metal in this game it is going to weigh a ton. There is a really nice aesthetic to the shape and routing of the ramps and the speed is going to be crazy.
Those wicked blazing ramp exits are actually sorta brilliant. Doom comes from that era of gaming where games were actually difficult, like Silver Surfer on the NES difficult (Maybe not THAT difficult, but still...). Having those ramp shots is like a pinball allegory for having a game punish you, even though you're doing the right thing--just like those old video games.

Gotcha. Never seen dead pin, will need to search. Never been invited to play buffy even though its about 3 miles from my house, lol. Really wanna see the casino game too. PROC booth it is this year!
Quoted from Bonnevil69:Let's not forget Scotts custom Total Annihilation
Dang! I guess pinside isnt the spot any more. I havent seen anything about this one either. I am so behind in the times. TA looks very cool, although I was secretly hoping it was based on the pc game of the same name, haha. So jealous of all you guys and your brains and time.
