Going to be touching up A #Doodle Bug pf. Would appreciate hi res pics of the area just below the Doodle Bug target. May try having stencil printed to help with painting this area. Thanks for any help.

Dc - have you considered a vinyl decal - I am local in Vancouver and I’ve posted several topics on some great results I have had with that method – just an FYI

My buddy also has a doodlebug – really fun game - I will have to ask him What condition his play field is in as I cannot recall

Thanks, was thinking that way. Then was talking to designer at my friends sign shop. He said he could do either printed image on sign vinyl. Or to keep it paint, using low tack clear vinyl stencils. Especially for small copy. Still debating which way to go, but in either case, will need at least a good cell phone pic of this area of the play field. What is available on line is too low resolution.

Thought you might like to see the after. Not perfect or even close (don’t zoom on the pic, lol) but ok for lots of free hand brush paint work. Used airbrush for the pink. The play field pics helped a lot. Printed to scale and used for templates.

    Great job!!!

Thanks, as long as you don’t zoom to close. Ordered Mylar to protect it.

    Obviously looks much much better.
How does it look from players perspective, (as opposed to direct overhead view)?

Doodle Bug has always been a favorite of mine.
Never have gotten to the 10,000 (doodle bug) bonus added,
1,00 bonus maybe a few times only to lose
the extra scoring opportunity almost immediately.

Before using the mylar, you might consider applying a couple of layers of polyurethane where you repainted, unless the area is completely smooth.

    Very nice work.

1000 times better than what you started with and much more effective salvaging the playfield the game came with over trying to find a replacement pf.

Thanks all. Waxed but didn’t poly before Mylar. Want my repairs reversible if someone later does a full restore. Game now done and playing. Looks good from players view. Tough game.
