It sounds like the ball count reset solenoid keeps firing. The ball count reset solenoid has a separate circuit from the ball count wiper disc. If the ball count reset solenoid keeps energizing off and on, then that would mean the score motor was running constantly. When you reset the machine, does the score motor keep running?

I'd first work on the issue of the score motor that keeps running... Some easy things to check would be to make sure all the score reels are fully resetting. Also, make sure the coin switches are not sticking in the closed position.

Check the primary switches that send power to the score motor:

transfer relay switch - yellow wire and orange/green wire
eject relay switch - yellow wire and orange/green wire
reset relay switch - yellow wire and orange/green wire
score motor switch IND B - yellow wire and orange/green wire
outhole relay switch - yellow wire and orange/green wire

Make sure these switches are clean and adjusted properly...
