Looking for advice on my first arcade I recently purchased, donkey Kong
When I purchased game the monitor needed adjustments
I have made improvements but not sure if it needs more adjustments or is a part failure
" Capacitor or something "
Thanks for any advice
First picture is day I bought it

I think that's usually a cap failure.

You will have better luck here:

Make sure you fully understand how to safely discharge the monitor so you can replace the caps.

I will say this... that monitor is a Sanyo 20EZ. I have recapped (replaced all the capacitors). On many arcade monitors, the 20EZ is easily the hardest to remove from the monitor and to work on (physically). You might want to reach out to a tech and pay the $100 or so to have it done if you don’t have any experience on soldering or monitors in general.

And for Pete sake, Do NOT replace the crt monitor with an LCD screen. The monitor is one of the most important parts of the machine being original and retaining its functionality and value as an original antique

Check out John's video on the monitor. He answers most of the questions you may have on a monitor recap.

Thanks for all the suggestions
I am using an experienced tech to help
As I am not comfortable with the high voltage
And no to the LCD screen
I bought it because it was all original

those are fun to do. the 20 ez board is very well marked and easy to get the proper polarity and cap numbers in right place.

Agreed! I can’t understand why the 20 ez is always described as being difficult. It is incredibly well marked when compared to a wells gardner or electro home.

I think the difficulty is that you have to completely remove the monitor to get to the chassis not replacing the caps.
