Sorry about your loss, @chuckwurt
Ive had dogs my entire life too, and everytime I've had to put one of them down, they've taken a small piece of me with them.
Quoted from bssbllr:Quarintine sucks for all of us!!!
Indeed it does. But Im just so fucking happy I've got my best friend, my dog, because else, living alone, I dont know how I could've handle all this.
Quoted from Tyamry:I think they are all bored...or pissed off![quoted image]
Damn. Beautiful eyes!
Indeed they are! And I bet, if you smell right behind their ear(s), they will smell awesome. Like all dogs.
Quoted from bob_e:I bought a Little Tikes wagon to Cleo can go on long walks.
She get tired out easy do to age and health condition.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Beautiful how you take care of your old friend! How old is she, and whats her health issue? She sure is a sweet little bulldog. Or is she a frenchy?
Quoted from Sputnik:It is a sad day here. Honey did not wake up this morning.
[quoted image][quoted image]
Sorry about your loss.
Quoted from Coindork:A couple updated pics of my daughter with Lola.
A lot of bonding time happening with them both staying at home. [quoted image][quoted image]
Beautiful puppy!
Quoted from Lostcause:I was feeding my dogs on a raw diet, had to stop as it was costing so much and they started going off it anyway but they produced about 75% less crap.
It was also much less smelly, now I’m back to clearing more stinky crap!
Yeah, the raw stuff is incredible. But pricey. I always keep some in the freezer, as both treat and backup. Around here its sold frozen in small "pucks". We call it vom. Hehe
Quoted from screaminr:As usual I've lost my spot in the bed . Geez those curtains and bed covers are horrible
[quoted image]
Doesnt matter, they do their job.(Dogs and curtains.)
Quoted from chuckwurt:Meet the newest member of the NKY Pinball crew. Sam!
[quoted image][quoted image]
Beautiful.
Quoted from electricsquirrel:It was a hot day, so he just flopped down in the creek.
[quoted image]
What breed is that? He reminds me of the Boston terrier / jack russel terrier mix my little OTTO put out in life.
Quoted from electricsquirrel:It was a hot day, so he just flopped down in the creek.
[quoted image]
Quoted from electricsquirrel:He's a Cardigan Welsh Corgi.
[quoted image]
Ah, now I see the difference. Pretty little boy!
Quoted from TheRudyB:Extremely alert, incredibly quick. He's a hefty 3 lbs. right now and will end up tipping the scales at (at most) 7 lbs. when fully grown ... which will only be another inch or two longer than he is now and (at most) 9" to the shoulder.
Alternated whimpering and sleeping on the 5-hour ride home on Monday. Curled up next to me in bed Monday night. Slept the whole night. Did it again last night. I think we're settling into a routine already.
Otto is a small dog, always slept in the bed with me, sure, a few mishaps (you know what I mean) but I wouldve been scared of crushing such a beautiful little dog during sleep.
Quoted from RWH:Looks like Otto has moved in!
Haha, yeah, and dare you enter the tomb of the OTTO!
Quoted from Who-Dey:Yeah my old Basset had 26 teeth pulled and several others were worn down to nothing and I made the statement to the vet that the dog would definitely be in a wet food diet now. He said he could still eat dry food probably as long as the kibble were small. He said most dogs dont chew their food up much anyways.
Well, most of the dry foods are supposed to be put in water.. Atleast all the kinds Ive always used. And its a great way to reduce the risk of calcium crystals forming in the urine bladder due to high pH of water.
Otto started pissing blood almost a year ago, today. I was in northern Sweden at the time, some 150 kilometres from nearest vet. To make a long story short, that was due to him drinking to little and since Ive always let his dry (Hills prescription diet c/d) kibbles soak for 30 mins before serving. Fuck me, cant remember beeing that scared ever.
(Oh yeah, the blood pissing was due to calcium strutuvite forming in his bladder.)
Quoted from Daditude:[quoted image]
Yeah. I used to be a huge fan of pyrotechnics and then I got a dog. Changed my view totally.
Beautiful boxer! I had a snow boxer before, his name was Junior. He passed at the age of 10, and I still think of him daily.
I dont have any pictures of him on the phone, but I have this on my wall.
(On the right is my current dog's father, Kompis. Whom Junior actually raised in his day.)
So they live on in a way.. A good way!
15946628415397194070509236549815 (resized).jpg
(Kompis means friend in norwegian/swedish)
Quoted from TheRudyB:Here's one of Dobby from his observation deck keeping an eye on all activity on the bike trail, and another one asking the all-important question: "Are you going to stay downstairs for a while this time, or are you coming right back upstairs again?"
[quoted image][quoted image]
I love those ears!
Quoted from RWH:Otto does not look enthused over being disturbed you'd better find something else to do than interrupt his nap time. lol
Haha, yeah, I did spend a few hours on JP3 afterwards.
Quoted from PinballFever:I think we all agree that dogs are the BEST and I have a question for dog lovers like me.
What's your opinion on the "guilty dog" videos online shaming the dogs that were caught doing their misdeeds that people think are funny???
Myself, I would NEVER do that to any of my dogs. I think it's mean and cruel to make them feel so bad and I feel it messes up their emotional well being. Dogs should always be happy, period. "Man's best friend", you know?
Well, if little otto ever does something wrong, and trust me, he have, many times, thats a thing between me and him. I never shame my human friends in public either. I fucking hate people who treat animals (both pets and "stock") like objects.
Quoted from BazilBLast:I bought a dog home a while ago and my two didn't like him .
I couldn't get the video to turn sideways so it's probably best to turn your phone sideways to look at it .
Haha. I had the volume on my phone too high, so when I played your video little Otto woke up and ran to the window to look for the barking dogs.
Quoted from MechaDog:Waiting for Deadpool (our first pin) to be shipped.
[quoted image]
Congrats on nice doggo! (and first pin, not a bad choice either) !
Quoted from 72Devilz:All 3 1/2 lbs of Rialto our 12 week old Brussels Griffon.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
What a beauty!
And 12 weeks. Lots of puppy smell then.
Quoted from JayDee:Amazon driver making delivery hears commotion in backyard. Peeks over fence to see 14yr old husky struggling to keep head above water. So he jumps in to save it. Owners were away from home at the time but animal control person lived down the street from them and knew the dog so contacted the owners after arriving to the call. The driver stayed with the dog for over an hour while waiting for the animal control to arrive. The dog being a senior, has issues with it's back legs so it would of drowned for sure if the driver wasn't there.
[quoted image][quoted image]
Glad I couldn't watch it, or my eyes had been watering.
Quoted from zr11990:I thought I lost my dog yesterday. I took him for a walk in a large park in the woods and he saw a rabbit and took off. I just sat yelling his name for 30 minutes and he eventually came back. I need a GPS device on him.
Happy to hear you found him. Little otto once took off chasing a family of roe deer (5x his size) and that was one of the worst hours of my life.
Quoted from 72Devilz:Took a bad fall off a ladder at 16 feet yesterday and broke my humerus. Feels like I’ve been ran over by a train and I am couch bound for the next few days at least. This would be so much more unbearable without these dogs to look after me! Needless to say my pinball play is out the window for awhile.
[quoted image]
I hope you have a speedy recovery. Btw, you could still play Oktoberfest..
Quoted from Pinballemporium:RIP Sophie “Bear”. She passed away a week ago today.
[quoted image][quoted image]
I'm very sorry about your loss.
Quoted from Jaybird815:The girl on the left is in the danger zone!! My mastiff would sometimes get room clearing gas.
Hehe. Even little otto, weighing in at 9 kg could empty an entire hockey arena if he let one rip.
Quoted from DUFUS:Dufus, the mostly Norwegian Elkhound just celebrated her 14th birthday. The old grey lady still gets out for daily walkies.
[quoted image]
That is one classy lady!
Quoted from TheRudyB:As the weather has gotten cooler, I brought out a blanket for the bed. Right away Dobby began to crawl under it. He'll sleep all night completely under the blanket. First time he did it I went all over the house looking for him when I got up because the bed looked like a heap of sheets and blankets like it always does in the morning.
I managed to snap this pic during a recent afternoon nap. And here I thought I was the only one who will periodically stay under the covers to keep warm, but stick my feet out because they're too warm.
[quoted image]
Little otto does this too. I hope I haven't posted this picture here already..
IMG_20201014_215220 (resized).jpgWell, its been a while (?), so I bring you another picture of my best friend.
Little Otto refuses everything else but Kong toys. Also the only toys that last. One of his "kong wheels" hes been chewing on for five years now.
And I love that picture of a happy grandma and little puppy!
IMG_20201026_211338 (resized).jpgQuoted from bob_e:We have 4 do you want to borrow one?
What do you have to offer? Even though little Otto is a small 9 kg Boston, he, just like me, prefers big girls.
Quoted from transprtr4u:My boy!
RIP
July 7, 2007- Nov 6, 2020
[quoted image]
Sorry for your loss. I hope you have another fur friend to spend the "dog care" energy /love on.
Quoted from Ceckitti:[quoted image]
Hey @ceckitti! Nice to see you here. Beautiful dog!
Quoted from VALIS666:My wife and I got these sweet, crazy little bully brothers on Thursday. I've had dogs my whole life, these would be numbers 8 and 9, but I've never had two puppies at the same time before. Phew. They're amazing, but they're a tornado of wrestling and biting and peeing. It's pretty awesome watching them tear through the basement under dozens of pins without slowing down.
[quoted image]
[quoted image]
Damn. Cuteness overload.
Quoted from Ceckitti:My daughters “puppy” (1 year old) that has become one of my best buddies. Wife won’t let him on our bed, but he as soon as she leaves every morning he comes running down and jumps in it! LoL
[quoted image]
Hes a beautiful boy. Now, please enlighten us about the bed spread?
Quoted from Ceckitti:LOL Thats our giant Walking Dead "Negan" blanket. Its freaking huge! It will cover the entire king size bed if laid out.
Aah, yeah, Negan ofcourse. I thought I recognized the face, just couldnt identify him
Quoted from Deaconblooze:My pup was supposed to go in to get her lady bits modded tomorrow. They put it off to April since she's entering her first heat (we had a check this morning). Not excited about this. Anyone have any advice?
Well, keep her away from male dogs. (Unless they have had their testicles removed, which Ive understood is alot more common in USA than in Scandinavia)
Also you should get her "dog diapers" so that she doesnt drip blood everywhere. Besides that, dogs are different and react different during this phase, just like us. Ive seen both cuddly, restless and "somewhat bitchy".
Its really nothing to worry about though.
Quoted from Whysnow:Been playing around with some filters and pup pics.
[quoted image][quoted image]
Beautiful dogs and beautiful pictures!
Quoted from CrazyLevi:Total sweetheart. Nice puppy smell.
Nothing like that puppy smell.
Quoted from electricsquirrel:He really likes the snow![quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Handsome little friend you got there! Whats his name?
Quoted from electricsquirrel:Thank you!
His name is Dash.
2 Yr. old Cardigan Welsh Corgi.
Funny how similar his coloring is to my little Otto.
IMG_20201221_170409 (resized).jpgQuoted from KnockerPTSD:https://instagram.com/bowserthehamiltonboston?igshid=5l07pfad993c
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
awesome Boston!!
Quoted from Daditude:This is 100% my dogs! I have 3, but the man culprits are my 160 lb cane corso (Italian mastiff) and my 12 lb chug (Chihuahua/pug mix), lol!!![quoted image]
Haha. Little OTTO is exactly the same. He guards our home and the pinball bunker with his life. I find this behaviour both good and bad.
Quoted from LTG:In his little mind, he might be guarding you.
You can tell this if another dog gets close to you and he won't have it.
LTG : )
Indeed he is. Honestly, without OTTO, I don't know how I would have made it last few years and especially through this fxxxxxg pandemic.. Give Prada a good belly rub and tell her little otto said hi
Quoted from JayDee:I know the feeling. I found the easiest way to get good pics is to take a video, then grab still shots from the video.
Damn. That sounds like alot of work.
Quoted from transprtr4u:Couldn't imagine stuffing a departed animal. , lost my dog on Nov 6,2020 and he's still in my thoughts daily. Couldn't fathom looking at a shell of my dog on a daily basis as it wouldn't come close to missing his soul ... more parts to my animals than their shell...
Lastly just to creepy!
Sorry for your loss, @transprtr4u. My opinion about stuffed dogs is however that if it makes you happy, @daditude, you should go for it. Thats what matters. I dont think its creepy. We're all different due to different cultural customs.
Little OTTO had to have surgery. Second time he had to have surgery to remove calciumcrystals in his urine bladder. And hes been on "special diet" (Hills urinary care c/d) ever since.
Went and left him for the procedure yesterday, and picked him up today. Sure is a strange feeling when he wasnt around. Anyhow, everything is good now. Ive taken a couple of days off work to take care of him.
IMG_20210312_113803 (resized).jpgIMG_20210312_162442 (resized).jpgQuoted from RWH:Poor little guy hope he heals up quickly and completely. I know what you mean by feeling strange when they're gone, can't stop worrying about them no matter how serious the nature of their procedure. Hardest for me is having to drop them off and leave them, my babies always look at me like I'm abandoning them and I feel it. My best for you and Otto while he goes through this latest ordeal.
Yeah man. Same here.
I must say that of all the vet clinics Ive encountered, the vet I used this time, in these days with the pandemic and all going on, you cant take anything for sure. I know theres a big shortage of important animal medicine both in Sweden and Norway atm, but my vet really fscken delivered.
Im gonna bring them a large homebaked cake or a 3 kg smoked porkneck when we go to remove the stitches.
Quoted from mof:How did you realize he had a problem with that? What symptoms?
Thank you for asking. The thing is, 2.5 years ago when this shit happened for the first time I totally panicked. And the symptoms were blood from his penis after he "thought" he was done peeing. Not much blood, just a few drops. This was ofcourse due to those crystals blocking/irritating his urethra.
And after the "first time" Ive been very observative regarding little ottos urine. You can call me the piss detective.
IMG_20210312_215252 (resized).jpgQuoted from screaminr:That sounds full-on , goes to show you how serious chocolate and dogs can be .
My greatest fear is them being bitten by a snake or hit by a car . Vet bills can be so expensive , that's why I got the highest level pet insurance I could get . You did the right thing , so I'm sure the little guy will be fine .
Amen brother. I have the same for little otto, and it has saved me twice!
Quoted from KnockerPTSD:Had a similar situation with our cat. He would sometimes just not be there. Like dementia or something. Some good times near the end but other times he just seemed confused and tired.
Yes. Totally this. Junior would just stare straight ahead, and for anyone who knew him it would be very strange. I wouldnt relate to dementia in Juniors case though, more like that he felt he was done. And fuck me my eyes are tearing up as I write this. You are in my thoughts @pinwiztom. Take care
Quoted from yzfguy:I dunno, guys. I'm a total animal lover, but I won't let anything lick my dishes that licks its own ass!
We had a dog we fed table food to before we had kids. Ended up we weren't doing her any favors health wise and we have since changed our ways. Dog food for dogs now.
Hell yes.
Thats awesome. And it makes me alittle happy to think about little otto not beeing that smart, I worry enough about him as it is.
Sorry for your loss, @pinwiztom. I hope your sister forces herself to get a new dog soon, even though it probably will feel "wrong".
Gonna bother you with another picture of the great little OTTO. After his second time with calcium struvites forming in his urinebladder today we started with a new "medicine", which is basically Calciumcitrate in fluid form.
Before today, I had gotten his urine pH from 6.5 to 7,and hopefully with this new tincture were going from 7 to 7.5-8.
IMG_20210514_191723 (resized).jpgQuoted from oldskool1969:I would rather they rolled in shit and not eat it like this little turd burglar and the big black shit factory behind him [quoted image]
I used to have that exact ashtray.
Quoted from electricsquirrel:Shit.
I had no idea.
Sorry I posted that.
Nothing to be sorry about, rather the opposite. We all need to know whats happening in the world.
Quoted from RobDutch:Juul got a haircut today
[quoted image]
Beautiful little friend. And also congratulations on beating Austria.
Quoted from PlanetExpress:Toe amputated today, due to a recurring tumor, but he’ll be back in action soon. Poor little guy….
[quoted image][quoted image]
Thats a beautiful little Boston. How old is he?
Quoted from Sputnik:He is chipped, but the chip is not registered. We are gonna foster for a while.
So for now his name is Legs Diamond.
[quoted image]
Your awesome!!
Quoted from vex:Here is Gus, a miniature dachshund pup , 10 weeks old.
[quoted image]
Beautiful! And I bet he smells good too!
Quoted from screaminr:Happy international Dog Day everyone
[quoted image]
Damn, I didnt know it was international dog day. I guess I better post a picture of little OTTO.
IMG_20210821_183027 (resized).jpgQuoted from cosmokramer:Reagan has not moved from under the A/C in my shop very often this past month...
[quoted image]
Beautiful dog. And I like that assman license plate. Haha. True attention to detail considering your alias / avatar.
Quoted from dirkdiggler:RWH sorry for you loss. I feel your pain. We lost our beloved friend Jimi Tuesday. [quoted image]I started a thread about him and feel very blessed for the kind and helpful words posted there. Here's a couple that have really helped us in the healing and recovery process.
[quoted image][quoted image]
Sorry for your loss @dirkdiggler. That cartoon made my eyes water
Quoted from Drain1:My dearest Gretyl, 15 year old black lab, was put to sleep yesterday. Life is very quiet now. Please send prayers.
Sorry for your loss.
Quoted from gatordad:Just adopted these 2, brother and sister, littermates. So much energy...
Everyone meet Korra and Bruno.[quoted image]
Nothing like the smell of a lil pup! Mmm
My good friend just came to pick up little Otto because Im travelling to Borås in Sweden, for Borås Classic Pinball Open tomorrow.
First time since I got Otto (his seventh birthday is on March 31) that we will be apart for more than 12 hours. Already miss him, but I know he will have an awesome time with my friend and his dog.
Slack Image (2022-02-27_17-47-52-271) (resized).jpgQuoted from oldskool1969:People don't believe me until they meet Kumo. He is a glorious 48.5kg Sheprador.
Malts like a bastard in summer. Thank god winter is coming!
Damn. Thats a large little friend. I wouldnt want to pick up after him.
Quoted from bob_e:I walked my goldens this morning for about 1/2 hour. In that time Jack aka Jackass dug up the garden
[quoted image][quoted image]
Im sure he only tried to help.
Quoted from DUFUS:Dufus the mostly Norwegian Elkhound is now closer to 16 than 15 years old. An old grey lady. Still crazy after all these years.
[quoted image]
Beautiful!
Quoted from Madmax541:This isn’t an easy post for me, but feel I need to share.
After struggling to eat for past week took Magnum my English Lab to the vet, and found he had a tumor the size of a basketball in his stomach. He had been to the vet 3 month prior for annual check up, healthy12 year old lab.
We had to put him to slept, family was there to say good bye. This one is tough, due to COVID we spent every day all day together for past 2 years.
Looking back on last month he just didn’t seem the same less active.
Great loyal friend will be missed.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Sorry for your loss. fucking sucks. Atleast you had 12 good years together.
Quoted from illawarra92:happy 17th birthday to our girl bowie
was the runt and has outlived the entire litter by about 13 months[quoted image][quoted image]
What a beautiful girl!!
I waited for 8 years. Then my ex (was already ex at the time) called me and gave me orders to decide on a name and told me to get my ass to Sweden and meet my little OTTO. That was 7.5 years ago. Damn time flies when your playing pinball.
Quoted from Kkoss24:The Crew
[quoted image][quoted image]
Best crew I've ever seen!
Quoted from blastbeat:Family convinced me it was time for a dog. Last one we had to put down about 10 years ago or so. Our new girl Ruby has been amazing (and a pain in the ass in a funny way). My 3 kids spoil this one!
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Beautiful little Boston terrier.
Quoted from illawarra92:bowie still going at 17 and 3 months.
my wife and i do everything we can to make sure her life is as amazing as it can be.
if only you could hear her little snores before she is carried to bed [quoted image]
I wish I could upvote this twice.
Quoted from matt_adams:And what were they doing? Come on Otto, we need to know!
Yeah I would like to know myself, two 25 - 30 year old Lithuanian girls living there. However, I think he was looking for his little girlfriend Bertha.
IMG_20221011_172447_1 (resized).jpgQuoted from Madmax541:Have a new buddy - Marty
[quoted image][quoted image]
Damn. I just love that new puppy smell.
Quoted from brobra:Lost my wingman, but extremely grateful for the 14 years of joy and companionship he provided to me and my family. Rest In Peace Jackson and see you on the other side.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Sorry for your loss. Fucking sucks. 14 years is a respectable age.
Some people mod their games, I modded little OTTO to look like SEGA Goldeneye.
IMG_20221021_133209 (resized).jpg
Long story short, he got in a fight with a cat, and now his right eye needs various eyedrips up to five times per day until further notice. Next checkup in a weeks time.
Im impressed at how well he behaved at the vets though. And Im very thankful for good insurance.
Quoted from Jaybird815:Rigbys 9th birthday today, best dog I’ve ever owned.
[quoted image]
Thats a fscking beautiful face!
Quoted from screaminr:Doug and Daisy got into a couple of hampers the wife had made for people at work .
They ate -
Two boxes of shortbread
Two packets of Bon bons
Two boxes of truffle chocolates
Two gingerbread houses
And pulled apart two boxes of diffuser oils .
I didn't notice anything but as soon as Mum came home they looked so guilty .
For once they hung out with me , only because they knew how pissed mum was
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
I hope it wasnt too much cocoa?
Quoted from ShinyBall:The dreaded ACL injury...Poor storm..Dam Squirrel
[quoted image][quoted image]
Poor sweet dog reminds me of SEGA Goldeneye. I wish for a speedy recovery!
Quoted from illawarra92:thanks for the support.
bowie crossed the rainbow bridge this morning.
the house is very quiet now.
My sincere condolences.
Quoted from screaminr:I saw Little OTTO in the park yesterday .
He froze when he saw my two coming towards him , and when we were about a metre away he took off like a rocket .
I said to my wife that was Little OTTO !
Then I had to explain who he was
Haha! This made my morning! Thank you
Quoted from yzfguy:Where we going?
[quoted image]
Damn. Thats a beautiful big little friend you got there. And excellent picture, the fur almost looks like porcelain.
Quoted from DUFUS:After a period of mourning for my sweet lady, Dufus, who passed away last June, I now have this Norwegian Elkhound boy in the house. Or in the yard as pictured. Welcome "Tooki", abbreviated/Americanized/phonetic for tokig-hund (Swedish for crazy dog, an exclamation my grandmother often used).
[quoted image]
As a Swede living in Norway I can say your correct Beautiful little boy! You gonna train him for hunting?
Quoted from DUFUS:I don't believe hunting big game with dogs is legal in the US. Deer hunting in some southern states being the possible exception.
Oh. I never even thought about that possibility.
Quoted from LTG:LTG : )
[quoted image]
Been a while since you posted any pics of Prada @LTG, just saying..
Quoted from Defender:Here's Leela - We raised her for Leader Dogs for the Blind in Michigan. Instead of moving on to full training, she was selected for breeding, and is on her 2nd litter.
These 5 pups will hopefully go on to be Leader Dogs and matched with a client. It's amazing how they can change a person's life.
[quoted image][quoted image]
I wish I could upvote this twice!
JohnnyPinball007 Now when you dont have to get up at 5 anymore, maybe its time for another dog? We need more posts here
Quoted from Atari_Daze:So sorry for the loss of your loved one!
Then just I saw this terrible story in our local news. I figured it best to share, for the scam might make it's way to other parts of the country, if not already.
https://www.click2houston.com/news/local/2023/06/07/scammers-mask-houstons-barc-shelter-phone-number-demand-money-for-release-of-missing-pets/
Fucking assholes deserves proper necklacing.
Nice! Even his own little fire hydrant to piss on! Little OTTO likes to piss on my grill and the table the pizza oven stands on.
