After a few days I start thinking and looking. It took 5 weeks to find Prada, my pride and joy. That was the longest between dogs for me. Usually about a week.

Reminds me of a dog one of my customers had years ago. Huge Saint Bernard - Collie mix. Huge and long fur. Worst snow storm he'd be laying on top of his dog house.
Neighbors were constantly calling the humane society on him. He'd show them. Dog didn't want to be in the house, wouldn't stay in his dog house. If they had a better idea he was all for it.

Many years ago I had a friend at the house. I fixed him dinner. When he was done I put his plate on the floor and let the dog lick it clean. Then I picked it up and put it in the cupboard with the other dishes.
The look on his face was priceless.
I did remove all the dishes and stuff in there and washed everything. It was still worth it.

She'll be about 18 this summer. I'm afraid the down hill slide has started. They don't operate on dogs this old, she may not make it through surgery. So not much I can do about the growth on her chest.

She might not get used to it. She may hear things from the machine you can't hear.
My dog always runs and hides under a pinball machine when it starts to rain. The barometer changing hurts her ears. Nothing helps. It's just part of who she is.
