Monday Aug 7th we had to make the excruciating decision to put our beloved Ratchet to sleep.
It was about 5pm he looked a bit bloated by 10 he was whimpering and it was off to the emergency animal care. His stomach had just twisted shut and that rarely happens in smaller dogs. Surgery was a small glimmer of hope but given several factors probably not the best call for him.
By 1 am it was done he had passed on and I was just basically in shock. Such a tough call!!!Was it the right decision plays on my mind more than anything which I am sure is normal.
Almost 2 weeks later I am at a bit of peace with it but it totally sucks!
This guy sat at my feet through most playfield builds and kept me company all day long .I couldn't even look at a picture of him until today.
11 Awesome years Ratchet you were the absolute best!

Thanks for the condolences.
After two weeks we decided the void Ratchet left behind is bigger than just the sadness of it all and really needs to be filled so we secured this guy.
He just opened his eyes Saturday and can't leave mama for another six weeks but there is some excitement slowly taking place of grief.
This will be our third Shih Tzu.

He looks like he could be on a Star Wars movie!

Yes I don’t think it is going to take much to make his Ewok costume for Halloween

Quoted from pinwiztom:

I wanna see some updated photos of Megatron and HEP's pup Maverick

Here is Maverick after a trim around the eyes so he can see better. Up to about 7.5lbs now. Should make it to around 12 or so.That chewed up trim on the steps is apparently one of his remodeling projects.

Maverick the HEP shop dog is getting close to fully grown.
His colors have really shifted.

Really nice and loving but very mischievous.
He gets into so much in the shop that we have resorted to anchoring him to a 90lb kettlebell while I am working.

Maverick Fresh from the vet 10 days of the cone ahead.
I think he is not too happy about it now but wait until it comes off and he sees what is missing.

Quoted from kirkgun:

Poor guy. The last time Charlie was in a cone, it wasn't working out well. It scared the living crap out of Suzy (other dog).
We discovered these inflatable collars. It worked perfectly. Not only was dog Suzy not scared, Charlie was far more comfortable with the inflatable version. And, I have always felt the cones just made sounds much too loud for dogs anyway, making them very nervous. I was really happy Suzy inspired us to find something better for Charlie.
I think this is what we got...

Here's my girls. Suzy is the yellow lab. Charlie is the insane hound.

Thank you I just sent the wife to get one. Looks much more comfortable for the next 10 days than the plastic funnel.

Maverick finds a way to lay on anything we need to use. About to pack some parts up and he takes the box over. Obviously it is interrupting his relaxation.
He likes to wear clothes so we got him a Thundershirt. Strangest dog we have had.
