Quoted from oldskool1969:Definitely an ugly sort of cuteness, what breed are they again?
Most certainly you are speaking of my post because the Brussels Griffon is quite often referred to as such.
Quoted from KnockerPTSD:"I'm no artist but dang if I'm not a little proud of my attempt at painting tonight. I need to learn some basics but it's clearly a dog lol."
Wonderful! I like it quite a bit.
Lost my little baby today. She suddenly became very sick and wobbly on her feet yesterday afternoon. I had fed her that morning like usual and she ate her food without issues but later that afternoon she started to throw up everything and could not even hold water down. Took her to the vet this morning and they did blood work and after the results decided to do an xray to have a look at her liver and found a tumor the size of grapefruit in her body cavity. I had to have her put to rest after having her for 15yrs. I've cried my eyes out even though I knew with her age it was coming, just leaves a hole in my heart. I'm going to be lost without her for awhile, she used to wake me every morning licking my face ever since she was a puppy and at this point do not think I'll get another for now. I worry at my age that a puppy would out live me and I don't want to have to depend on someone to take care of them once I'm not here. She was very loved by all and had even made the cover of Pet Smart's magazine where she got groomed very 2 months.

I agree that adopting an older dog would be doing both you and the dog a favor. So many older dogs never make it out of shelters.
Well, after going thru the same thing a few weeks ago, we couldn't take watching our remaining young pup looking around for her all the time, so yesterday we added to the family. A rescue saved from a kill shelter in Georgia.
Meet Mocha ❤️
She and Milo (lighter color) are really hitting it off and they both have lots of energy

Similar experience with my Sheba, heartbreaking when you have to make a quick decision on your furry friends life.
I am very sure she is grateful to you for loving her enough to help her no longer being sick.
The final act of true love for your furry friend and take peace in knowing you did the right thing.
Im glad you didn't prolong her pain for selfish reasons.
Post some more pics as she looks very grateful to you for being her human friend.
May you find inner peace brother.
FYI, I went 10 weeks before I HAD to het another furry friend, I guess i just had too much love to give.
I keep starting to reply and then delete..there are no words, it’s just the worst. I am sorry for your loss

So sorry for your loss
My Zeus is over 13. I work 2nd shift and everytime I come home around midnight he greets me and is happy to see me along with his little sister. Never once did he give me an attitude. Always psyched to see me. My wife is usually sleeping.
It's that time of year again , everything is heating up and the snakes are out and about , it does make it scary walking the dogs here.
It's a red belly black snake .
Apparently they haven't killed anyone , unlike the Eastern Brown snakes which our park is full of , but it still makes my heart skip a beat .

Apparently Thai Ridgebacks are good at killing snakes, not had a chance to find out around here though luckily!
Good luck out there

We lost our beloved friend Jimi Tuesday. 20181108_095845.jpgI started a thread about him and feel very blessed for the kind and helpful words posted there. Here's a couple that have really helped us in the healing and recovery process.

Sorry for your loss @dirkdiggler. That cartoon made my eyes water

Sorry to hear this, sad time for you.
I put my other Thai Ridgeback down a few months ago after trying with him for 5 years, very aggressive dog that had a screw loose.
This week a 10 year old boy was killed not far away by a dog with aggression, this is why I did it but still not over him. My best and worst dog in one.
Quoted from mtn-:Sorry for your loss dirkdiggler. That cartoon made my eyes water
I couldn't get past the fourth Square

We had someone come to the house and do it. Maggie hated going to the vet so much, I just couldn't make that her last experience. She was lying on the lawn in the sun right where she loved to be and it was very peaceful. Well, other than me crying like a baby.

I hear you mate , my heart goes out to you .
As heart breaking as it is , you did it the best way possible .

Sorry for your loss dirkdiggler it's hard to let go I know I try as I know you will too, just remember all the good years shared together and the memories you'll
have forever.
