This guy was sunning himself near the pier yesterday . We have lots of seals in the bay but it's rare to see one on the beach .
Seals , dogs of the sea .

They are called puppies of the sea and yes they bite like a puppy too!

#3006 3 years ago

Speaking of puppies, mine has explosive diarrhea at the moment. She's pretty well housebroken... but not THAT housebroken. Fun fact, she only shits on my stairs.

They're more friendly than mean , they won't chase you or anything but at the same time I wouldn't try to Pat one .

Quoted from Deaconblooze:

Not a sea lion , it's an Australian fur seal .
We have the largest colony of them in Australia .

I used to be the maintenance dept head mother^&%&^%$$ of a tourist town on the waterfront so to speak. Sea lions are rotten to the core animals, had a big bull waddle into the public mens side restroom at the side of the marina, boat launch\coast guard type place. STINK? like you cant believe, I was going to go after this rotten noisey stinking pile of blubber with a broom, me with the broom, hes 1000 pd dumbass. Now, who do you suppose shows up out of the blue of the western skies? State of California department of fish and game telling me I cant "harrass" this interloper. This is the same bunch that halted tearing a old fire hazard of a cannery down because it had those protected super rare Sea Gull nests!!!! I shit you not
THen theres the deal of jumping right over the transom of boats and busted up the boat in a million different way. Oh and they attract their friends too, you know those white sharks guys who may just rip the bottom half of your body off if you go wading.
You guessed it I dont like sea lions and animal protectors of the animals that do NOT need to be protected!

#3020 3 years ago
Quoted from weeze:

Don't hold back, please tell us how you really feel about sea lions and creatures in general!

I am a big animal lover, always have been. Sea Lions are NOT otters, lions are NOT rare and they eat all the fish in the bay because they are swimming pigs. I could hear them barking at my home which was a couple miles from the beach! Man they used to just destroy boats!
Then there is the sea gulls. You go grab a burger at one of the resturants where you can sit down outside on the wharf and they swoop in and steal your cheeseburger.
Really when they are overpopulated like they are they are a real nuisance. Don't believe in shooting anything unless you can legally do it and your going to butcher it.
I used to hunt deer in central New Yok and they had all these restrictions back then on how many deer you can take. Then winter rolled around and they would get stuck on roads and cant get off until they find a driveway and then the lawns are all snowed in. IN my life I've hit three deer all of which showed up like a ufo out of thin air!

Wow , sea lions eat fish in the bay who would have thought .
I give all animals a pass , as they have it hard enough as it because of us .
I have a couple of bushy tail possums living in my garage yes they cause damage and make a mess but I'm happy enough to leave them alone .
I think it's bullshit when people think it's their right to get rid of animals because they are a " nuisance " .
( I'm not saying you said this )

When we would go Salmon fishing in the bay. Unfortunately you would hear gun shots of fishermen. I was young and wasn’t
sure why I was hearing the shots in boats out in the ocean. I guy said “ fishermen don’t want there fish stolen.” It was crazy and the hardest part was getting the Salomon in the boat without it getting stolen.
The docks at the wharf would fill up with sea lions to where you couldn’t even get to the boats.
The seagulls yeah there where rocks sticking out of the ocean completely white with seagull shit.
Oh and that smell.

How many of you have a dog that watches TV? Our dog will stop eating when he hears something on TV that he likes.

He loves Animal Planet. Even their commercials.

Many years ago we had a dog that would run to the TV when a Hamms beer commercial came on. They always had a north woods lake, waterfall, river, in them. The dog would watch and then lick the screen.

I thought I lost my dog yesterday. I took him for a walk in a large park in the woods and he saw a rabbit and took off. I just sat yelling his name for 30 minutes and he eventually came back. I need a GPS device on him.
