Quoted from Jaybird815:A roomba would make it about 2’ from its docking station and then be destroyed at my house.
They do better than I thought. If you have hardwood, and clean it out everyday, it’s nice.

Same here. He will move some times but others he just lets it work around him.

I agree the Roomba does a good job on the hardwood floors. Our dogs Don't pay any attention to it. Beca cat stalks it.
Anyone know the best way to make a boxer stop tearing stuff up? Min tears up everything. Pillows, plants, trash everything

While you’re home? If only when you’re gone maybe it’s best to have it crate trained.
Tons of exercise would be another thing to try. Miles a day for walks and toss lots of ball in the backyard.
Quoted from ectobar:As Wayne from Letterkenny would say: "exercise, discipline and affection. In that order."

Looks like he threw a party that you were not invited to.
I live in a townhouse with a staircase the comes up the center of the house. That was one of the first times we left Tribute out of his crate while we were out of the house. My wife and I get home and get to the top of the staircase and look to our left. Room is looking good. We were both like, 'aww, Tribute, you were such a good bo'...then we turned to look right into the other room.
Those pillows did end up surviving somehow, and fortunately there haven't really been any other incidents.
Quoted from ectobar:That was one of the first times we left Tribute out of his crate while we were out of the house.
I’ve gone through this with Max many times. I gave up a couple years ago. He loves his crate and we don’t have to worry about the house when we leave. He’s almost 7 years old too. Some dogs just need a crate imo.

He does look like he enjoyed himself.
My old dog Palmer was terrified of water when I got him. But he also had terrible separation anxiety. So to break him of his fear of water, I took him to red river gorge and put a river between us. No way to get to me unless he crossed.
He ran up and down the banks on the opposite side trying to find a way across until he just broke down and swam across.
After that, he was obsessed with swimming. He would get into any body of water he could find. Haha

My lab mix was the same way. We didn't even realize it until we moved to a house with a pond. I tossed his ball in there, and he ran along the shore whining. We worked with him. Walked in the water along the coast, gradually getting him more comfortable over time. When he finally realized he loved water, it was probably my favorite moment as a pet owner. It was really rewarding to see him reach his potential (with a ball, anyway) as a water dog.

I'm definitely a fan of big dogs, but pugs are still one of my favorite breeds. We watched my brother's for a year while he was going through some things. That dog gave me a good laugh at least once a day. He once shit in my roommates room for my birthday. To this day, the best gift anyone has ever gotten me.

Thank you! She is actually a Chug (part Chihuahua, part pug), but she looks like a pure pug except she is much smaller and doesn't have the nasal issues of a pug. We LOVE her!

We are too. We have a cane corso that is about 160 lbs and a German shepherd mix.
Here is a pic of the cane corso:

She is certainly loving life lol.

Uhhh, actually he did have 2 visitors. I just loved the pic with the "3" Huskies. This one is Maximus, and the other Husky is Hercules

For my dog's it depends what type of water it is , they love puddles , rain , lakes , the sea ( if it's not wavy ) but they hate the hose and water pistols .
Some dogs like water some don't .
Yeah no way would he jump into a pool or would want to play with a hose or take a bath, but if he had a beach or river or something he could wade into, he was all about it.
He would also play fetch while out in the water swimming. He wouldn’t bring it back to you, he would just go get it then swim around with it.
One time we were at Red River Gorge and he was swimming and we were skipping rocks. He kept trying to go after the rocks as they last him.
My friend skipped a rock right at him and he caught it! I freaked out and jumped in to go see him as I thought he might have it lodged in his throat. Haha. He ended up being fine, but that was crazy.

Sad to hear that and very sorry for your loss.
We used to foster retired greyhounds and over the 10 years as fosters, we had to put down 5 of the 7, always heart breaking. I just remind the family gave them great homes, couches and beds in their retirement. It only helped a little, then we would up with another foster a few months later.
Johnny seen here suffered from seizures, usually only at 0300, always a rude and terrifying awaking but he was a big sweetie.
RIP to sweet Shadow from the A_D family.

1 081 (resized).jpgScooter got a strange disease about three years ago. It started with sneezing and drooling. Wasn't too bad at first, but the vet couldn't identify it, did some tests and found nothing. Other vets …..the same thing. nobody knew what was wrong with him. Eventually put him on phenobarbital, suggested by one of the vets. That helped, but it seemed there was nothing else that cold be done. He was OK most of the time, but had ups and downs, slowly getting worse and worse. Puking and retching started, and last week, it finally caught up to him.
We took Scooter for his final visit to the vet yesterday.
I am deeply saddened, but at the same time relieved. He was a good dog for the eleven years he was with us!
Scooter is on the left. This is the last picture we have of him, doing his favorite thing with his buddy Dash.
Sorry to hear of your loss, our hearts go out to you and Scooters best buddy Dash.
Quoted from NY2Colorado:My sweet prince,
So sorry to learn of your loss, as someone mentioned they bring us so much joy and unconditional love it's hard to reckon with when we lose them.
When my baby is gone I don't ever want another. There isn't a dog out there like him, in my opinion. The other day there were warnings that the looters were going to come out to the suburbs where I live so I laid my pistol on the side table where I could get it quickly. That night I was going to clean it so I unloaded it and he was in the bed with me and he knocked the gun out of my hand and would not stop pawing at it till I put it in the case and put it up. I guess he thought it was going to hurt me. When I put it up he laid his head on my leg and went to sleep. I love that dog more than myself.
