Huskies are beautiful, funny and expressive doggos. Here is a pic of my Frankie one year when we actually had snow on the ground. He was 16 when we had to say goodbye to him. Miss him to this day.

^^^^^ Weird thing is we were playing frisbee golf in the early 80’s. The neighborhood kids would find a tree far away and say it would take three throws. The roads were water I feel like we invented that lol.

I haven't walked the dogs for 4 days because it's been wayyy too cold. Finally today I said screw it and took them out for ten minutes around the block when it was the "warmest" time of the day. Suffice to say they were glad to get back home.

Of course you need to regulate how much couch time. Too much will leave them well rested and bored and ready to truck jack... Boxer to pup, "ok kid you work the petals and I'll handle the wheel."

I once had a Chow mix who went through a phase where he wanted out of the house when we were at work. Every day he tore a hole in the wall by a window trying to get out. He even went through a door once. One night I had had enough and put him out the front door. I told him if he wanted to leave so badly, he could leave. After a few minutes, I opened the door to find him still sitting on the sidewalk. Never had a problem with him after that. He and my Husky were the sweetest dogs.

I found a half grown squirrel once half drowned in a storm. I took it home and made a place for it and when I tried to feed it it but me. So, I told it that if it was going to bite it had to go outside. I put it out but the damn thing went to every window trying to get back in. I let it inside and it never bit me again. It came and went like a dog till one day he never came back.

Nah, they still rule. My terrier, Brittany, will still eat throw pillows periodically. And she’ll be 7 in August. You just can’t leave some breeds home alone with pent up energy. Have to wear them out as often as possible or they will find ways to do it alone.

Oh I know, winters rough, nicer weather she runs 3-4 miles a day, gains 10lbs every winter, she’s a great dog and still rules!

Awesome looking girl too. The color of her coat is beautiful

    #2034 25 days ago

The am ready to kill the pup in my previous post. Nothing is safe from him. I come home and he has been in the trash, he has taken the pillows off the bed and either torn them up or taken them outside. He tore up the dog beds, it looked like someone shaved a bear in the house. I buy rawhide bones for them and he wants the one my older dog has no matter how many are lying around and he barks till the older dog either walks away or jumps his ass. He uses the couch for a launching pad. My older dog never did any of this shit. I also don’t think he is full boxer. I think he is part pit which is why he is smarter and has always behaved. I don’t believe in getting rid of a animal once you bring it home but this asshole makes Marley look like a saint.

Boxers are high energy dogs ( like Dalmations) and you have to run them down a little through the day especially when they're pups.

    10
    #2036 24 days ago

So you need to have a Dalmatian and a boxer...

    #2038 24 days ago

I hate to be a bummer, but we lost our dog, Brewer, in July of this year. It was awful. We even had a moment weeks before his death where we realized how healthy our 12-13 year old dog was. Things turned really fast, and he was gone.

I miss him every single day. I still open the door slowly expecting him to be behind it waiting for me to get home. I have to stop myself from whistling aloud for a little bit of camaraderie and unconditional loyalty.

He was all about his tennis balls for almost of his life. Try to give him a treat? Get lost. Throw the ball. And I'm serious when I say no one was more excited about a fresh snowfall.

Sorry to learn of your loss Deacon. It's so very hard when you lose a family member especially when it's out of the blue. Things will slowly get better, I hope your little girl finds some something to get her past losing her buddy.
