Quoted from Who-Dey:

They pulled 9 teeth and did whatever else they do (735 dollars) and she is back home tonight and feeling much better.

You could have got the Star Wars topper for that

Might be a bit late now but if they will eat it ,try raw chicken wings that will keep their teeth nice and clean .

Quoted from zr11990:

Would you guys have this boy fixed? He has a appointment Thursday but I feel terrible doing it. He doesn’t have papers, they mean nothing to me, but he is such a good looking guy I hate to do it. I never had any intent on breeding him though. Are they happier when fixed?

I do not have the answers you seek? Curious is that a Raw Hyde bone, I would be hesitant in giving my dog those bones. They chew them up and go through their digestive system without being digested and usually can see clumps of it in their stool. I use the real bones and his poops are just dog food. My opinion only.

Chicken and pork bones a no-no. I mean yeah some dogs will have no problem, but who wants to find out the vet needs 1500.00 to operate on your dogs stomach problem.

My vet said no to all bones . Told me after the $900.00 dentistry bill ....

Yeah that sucks and is probably smart at that point. Our princess is from the Humane Society and just her top front teeth are down to the nubs not sure how or why but I could guess all kinds of things. At least she is in good hands now.

I think its pretty common for dogs to wear their teeth down like that, especially older dogs obviously.

Poor BoBo. He tor up every plant and my coconut tree that I brought back from Hawaii 5 years ago so I went ahead and had him fixed hoping to calm him down. He is in pain and is very confused. He just cowers now. I’m hoping after a good bits sleep he will be a happier pupper. He is snoring like a truck

He will be ok in a few days. I just had a major dental done on my cat and shes having it pretty rough right now and she isnt having much to do with us. I feel bad about it just like you do but what you did is going to help him live a much longer and healthier life..

So , I dont have a pic but I drove for 2 hours yesterday to take my daughters dog, a scruffy long haired chihuahua and pug mix, to a vet to get his leg fixed. He got into it with a pit. The local vet said to cut it off. I drove from Houston to the border of LA to a vet that said he could fix it. I shelled out 1800 for this dog because my daughter was beside herself about amputating the dogs leg which still would have cost 1000. I got a call today saying he was in good shape wanting someone to play with him. The things we do for our kids and dogs.

They are worth every penny to keep them healthy. There's no monetary amount that matches the joy they bring to our lives on a daily basis.

I’m so sorry to hear about your pup Wizard This is a tough Christmas for us too. It will be our first Christmas in 18 years without our sweet Phoebe. She just loved tearing into all the presents.

I also recently lost my beautiful Lexi. It's been three weeks now and I and the house still feel empty inside. Even with her one canine and eight feline siblings here to comfort me. She is greatly missed by all. Thirteen great years she gave us.

This is one of my favorite threads here. Always love seeing other furry friends, but today felt like a great support group and actually helped me feel a little bit better since I’ve been pretty sad that I won’t be watching my baby ripping open any gifts this year. Sorry but here’s a couple more pics of my sweetie. The last pic was from the day before I had to say my final goodbye. From the minute I got home from work till the time I went to bed, this was us cuddling on the couch.

I'm 61... I cried (and my wife too) like a baby, for 2 days, after we had to put Harley down. It's so hard to say good-bye.

#1931 4 years ago

< It's so hard to say good-bye.

Years ago...
For a week or two I would get up in the morning to let Dave, my first golden outside.
I would stand there holding the door open and there was no dog to let out.

I know it's very hard, I cried off and on for a week when I lost my Dinky. I too would find myself starting to get things ready for her before I realized she wasn't coming. I think I learned how to come to terms with it in some of those moments because they made me remember some of the silly and quirky things she would do in those instances, and I learned how to smile again. The memories started to not hurt so much as they celebrated all I loved about her and how much joy she brought into my life. I promise it will happen for you too and when it does you'll smile with every memory.

She was beautiful JayDee. I love Labs and Golden retrievers more than any other dogs. They truly are the best dogs in the world. So sad tnsee those pics but very glad that I got to see them too because it reminds me of the lab that I lost a few years back. I can tell she was an amazing dog just by looking at the pictures.

Another Zeus here, building kennels in my outbuilding and just fitted an insulated dog flap.
Insulated the room and have insulated box kennels arriving this week that I will be fitting tubular heaters in, dogs from Thailand. Got a lot of family staying/visiting this xmas and he is not friendly so best for all to keep him out and warm! His bitch will keep him company out there. Will be in house when nobody is visiting.

What is CBD oil?

Cannabidiol oil used as health aid. You can look it up but. you'd probably be better served to go to the thread here on pinside for Medical pot and ask, or read through as there is plenty on others giving it to pets.

#1944 4 years ago

CBD oil or sometimes marketed as hemp oil. Some think it a miracle drug, others may think it's all snake oil. I have a 15yr old dog, whose mobility is greatly diminished of late, that we are considering giving oil, but I am somewhat skeptical. Got to hope the product we are buying is the real stuff and not just some marketing ploy.

#1945 4 years ago

CBD oil that is legal in the UK is bullshit but they are still charging good money for it, so many people think they are getting the real deal.
Snake oil here for sure.
Such a shame that people need to go underground for this and then on the news you see advice about drinking too much at Xmas and the problems it can cause!
Tried the real deal and my knees which have a bit of arthritis and painful feel new again, like a miracle drug.
Can see how it can work for dogs.

#1946 4 years ago

Yeah, I had to do my research. Of course there are scammers out there and from what I read, CBD is different than hemp oil. This is the company that I ended up using after talking to some people and doing my own research. A bit pricey but it does work.

https://www.ellevetsciences.com/product/hemp-mobility-oil-for-dogs-60-ml/

I found a 20% off coupon that I was able to use too....

What dose are you giving him?

#1948 4 years ago
Quoted from undrdog:

What dose are you giving him?

He's about 70 pounds. The instructions say to give 16 drops twice a day for the first week and then 8 drops twice a day thereafter. I just add it to his meals. Works out perfectly. Dosage is based on the dog's size.

#1949 4 years ago

The label should say how many mgs per bottle, which gives an idea of how much cbd is in a drop.
