He's really cute.
Quoted from winteriscoming:We got Evie as a puppy in the summer. Not sure what her mix is. She wonders why it's harder and harder to fit under the couch to go after our Chihuahua mix.[quoted image]
That's what we call a summa dog. Some a' this and some a' that. Cute pup.

somebody is shortening the legs on the couch just to mess with her.
Quoted from oldskool1969:MEGATRON is a special dog
TigerLaw will have to explain as to why again I think.
Good dog.
He likes being the mascot for charity fundraisers.
He helped raise money for breast cancer research last October through the real men wear pink campaign and he helped raise $31,000 for the local police department's Toys for Tots (ran through the Marines) last December. Geaux Megatron!
Quoted from pinwiztom:is that LSU purple?
That's more like "Timothy Leary" purple lol.
sad news

FE7EB3BF-3831-4FEF-91CE-FB46B71DECC8 (resized).jpegIt was a rough week last week. Lost one of my boxers, my boy Hank, to cancer. Worst feeling ever when you’re making that last trip to the vet.
Always chilled in the gameroom with me, and loved the speech and infinity lights on Xenon. Will absolutely be missed.

Sorry to hear that Colsond. There is honestly not many things in life that is worse than losing your dog. I feel for you buddy!

So sorry my friend. This is on of the worse feelings. This is the worst part of being a dog lover.
Every day I treat my pupper like it is his last. He is 7 and a old man for a boxer. I put him to bed like a child and he usually sleeps with his head on my leg, unless I get the other end toward me then watch out. I take him on a walk or bike ride every day rain or shine cold or warm. He rides in the car with me whenever I can take him. I love him to pieces.
Sorry for your loss Colson..I'm sure Hank had a helluva life and was lucky to have you as a friend.. part of the journey but still sucks losing a dog.
*that's a pic of my dog Rider on his last day..I gave him a can of cat food before we left to the vet. Cat was not impressed!
20180909_085236 (resized).jpgSorry for your losses Colson & Dee-Bow...
I too know how painful that decision is to make. We love our pets like our kids.
Thanks a lot fellas, all of the comments are really appreciated. It really blows. Sorry about yours too Dee.
Found out he had cancer three weeks ago via ultrasound. He declined very quickly.
I rescue boxers, I have lost three of them. Have one left, Jessica. Got a call years ago that the rescue had a two-year-old they found wandering the streets of Philly. He was really disheveled, had been used as a prep dog for pitbull fighting. Had scars all over his legs and face. They were going to put him to sleep that day.
I hauled my ass down to Philly and picked him up. Awesome dog for eight years, and he had a much better life with us than he did his first two. My daughter is freaking heartbroken.

Do you mind sharing what was going on with him when you took him to the vet to get checked out? Did he stop eating or something? Also what do you think his age was?
Colsond3 I knew there was a reason I liked you. Besides your passion for vampires you have a passion for Boxers. If you come across a young one that needs a home I will be on the lookout for one soon. My daughter announced she is moving out this summer and will be taking her dog. My boxer will need a friend.
So sorry Colson. Went thru that with my Molly not that long ago. I had people come to the house to do it and I couldn't even talk to them. I was sobbing like a little kid and laying next to her on the floor when they did it. Just typing this is actually making me cry, and I think it's over a year ago now. She was old and trying to hang on for us, and I finally realized I was being selfish to make her suffer.
I had to do this to a boxer pup that I had for a year that had a bad heart. He was dumb as he could be but he was loving. His body just couldn’t do it any more. I got up and made him scrambled eggs with bacon then after he rested I took him for a long slow walk and
Got him tired. I took him to the vet and held him and fed him beef jerky till he was gone. I cried like a hysterical child in the vets office. I didn’t care. I cried more
For the dog than when my father died. He was an asshole
Quoted from zr11990:I cried more

For some reason i get more upset when animals die than when people die, even if i like the person. That would sound very weird to most people but i love animals more than anything. I don't know why but iys just different when they die for some reason. Im not talking about all people deaths obviously, some if them hurt terribly bad also. Im just talking in general.
Quoted from Who-Dey:Do you mind sharing what was going on with him when you took him to the vet to get checked out? Did he stop eating or something? Also what do you think his age was?
Out of nowhere he started pissing in the house, all over the hardwood floors. He had never done that once in his life. Copious amounts of urine, it wouldn’t stop. They kept saying he had some kind of parasitic infection and give him antibiotics. Blood labs were essentially normal.
Then he started getting severely lethargic, not eating as much. X-ray was negative, then they did an ultrasound and found multiple masses all over several organs. That was only three weeks ago.
Then he started laying around even more and twitching oddly, so we took him back. Vet said at that point he was in pain. Had to make the tough decision. If he was in pain, I said I would take him back.
Quoted from yzfguy:She was old and trying to hang on for us, and I finally realized I was being selfish to make her suffer.
That’s what I prevented. Didn’t want to get stuck in that loop. It’s so easy to.

Thanks man. Check the local boxer rescue if you have one, but I’ll keep an eye out too. There’s a huge one based out of Allentown, where PinFest is. We got our first one, Joey, out there.
It’s a relatively painless process. They come and do an evaluation of your house to make sure it’s suitable, and you get approved within a few days. They usually have a listing of a ton of boxers on their site. At least this one locally does.

That is awful man, really awful. I know it probably doesn't make you feel any better but you did the right thing for him for sure. Hopefully one day you two will meet again and he will thank you for all that you done for him.
Quoted from zr11990:I checked the local boxer rescue and happily, for the dogs, they are fresh out. I will keep looking.
That’s always a good sign, not so good for Fisher. I’ll keep my eyes out.
I like cats too, but dogs rule. Dobby the rat terrier-chihuahua mix is smart and extremely focussed. Luna, the Shih Tzu-Cairn terrier mix is not quite as smart, but very loyal and sweet.
At the off-leash park, Dobby is 100% focussed on fetching his ball, and gets upset if other dogs chase or try to steal his ball. Luna will stop on a dime and run off any dog that threatens Dobby (even in play). Size does not matter.
