Well, Megatron was such a hit for the real men wear pink campaign, he decided to help out the Toys for Tots program and do another photo with law enforcement next Wednesday to help them launch the drive. We did a test coloring today and will touch him up a bit next Wednesday.

My boys Wizard and Cooper Got turkey day leftovers. They both took off last night chasing a deer I think, but found their way home after hours outside. Wizard is so tired he did not get up to eat.

[quoted image][quoted image]

I don't give mine table food because any type of seasoning really messes up my older boy's stomach. And I live in an area where I have to pick up after them, so it's more for my benefit. But when I cook a bird, I'll throw the giblets in a pan and fry them up just for them. I din't have time to snap a pic of them gobbling that up.

I eat while laying down all the time. Its so much easier than standing up and trying to eat.

Lol that happens for sure. The main reason im so surprised by how well he listens is Basset Hounds are not known for listening to people. They are stubborn as hell and can be very grumpy and they just flat out can piss you off sometimes lol. This dog here has no stubbornness at all in him and he is very friendly to all other cats and dogs. He is a gentle soul and is always trying to please us. Its very odd for a Basset Hound to be that way. They usually are always pushing your buttons and testing your patience instead.

Have started having some behavioral issues with our recently adopted pup. He comes to work with me every day. Just recently started growling and viciously snapping at random people. It has happened 5 times in the past 3weeks. Can't figure out what is trigger g him. I don't know what do to with him. I can't have this happen any more. He's otherwise a great little pooch.

I've chalked it up to the fact that I'm just not a good trainer. I'm inconsistent and I talk with my hands. I probably confuse the hell out of the poor things. I also like to wrestle with them and let them jump in my lap if I'm just surfing the web or whatever. I know it's my own damn fault, but I don't mind it.

I dont know anything about training dogs either. I adopted him and he was very obedient when we got him, unfortunately i think he was abused and he is scared to screw up.

When i got him he was afraid to get on the couch or my bed. It literally scared him to death when i put him on the couch and especially the bed because it was obvious that this was a big no no in his previous home, so i confused the hell out of him too.

It took him probably id say 4 months to finally learn that things like that was ok and to become comfortable with his new life. Im pretty sure that he likes his new home much better than his old one. Theres no abuse, fighting, or arguing in my home so he feels safe with us now and i think he finally realizes that he will never have to go back to where he came from.

I was a little worried about introducing a puppy to our nine year old Corgi.

It was rough at first, but now they're buddies.

One of the funniest things to watch is dogs playing with each other. They do some of the silliest stuff. When my daughter lived with the piece of shit that is the sperm doner to my grand child they had a fat little pug mix and a dog that looked like the dog from the Simpsons that could run like the wind. He would run out then turn around and run as fast as he could and bowl over this little pug mix. The poor thing would have to hide to keep from getting plowed down. I hear now he is smart enough to open doors and goes into peoples apartments and steals stuff.

I made a bed for Brittany and Harley. Had a couple old pallets that I built the frame out of. My wife will get a couple foam pads and a couple yards of discount cloth and we'll sew them up a new mattress every year. The throw pillows are ones that Brittany chewed the crap out of, so I just cut them down a bit and stuck them in there. She's 5-1/2 and will still chew if left unsupervised too long. Damned terriers! 46419044_351870838693965_8240573714396086272_n (resized).jpg46419044_351870838693965_8240573714396086272_n (resized).jpg

Today Dogs do not rule in my household.

dewey shamed (resized).jpgdewey shamed (resized).jpg

Sad thing is that Dewey is litter box trained and will use one (we have 7 cats)
but guess he was too lazy or distracted to go down to basement to use it.
He pee'd right in front of my wife while she was decorating the Xmas tree.

Normally we let him outside every 4 hrs to pee or poo,
but it was 5 hrs when he had his accident.
He is capable of holding it longer.

How old is he? My male dachshund is 14 and change (I think about 99 in dog years) and he's more recently started having accidents. If he is sleeping, which he does most of the time, he can go for many hours, but if he's up and about, I have to make sure he's going out more than he used to.

I tried diapers, too, but the dumb things don't fit him well enough to stop pee.

#1581 5 years ago

Our Doxie is 13-14 yrs old also.
He has only had 2 accidents in the past 2-3 years.
The fact that he has done it both times right in front of my wife
is kinda weird. Normally if he has to go, he will bark near the front door.
He is getting old, so we will give him the benefit of doubt.
A little public shaming won't hurt, along with a few bad dog scolds.
When napping and sleeping he can go for hours and hours holding it.
Whenever we go out we always make sure to give him opportunity to
relieve himself and we try not to be away from home more than 6 hrs at a time.
And he knows where the cat boxes are, which we will use when it is too cold or rainy outside.
If we expect to be gone >6hrs he will come with us.
Overall he has been a pretty good dog. Minds us most of the time.
Though he does tend to bark a lot more at anything and everything the older he gets.

Mr. Weenie is 10 years old. We hop he lives to 17 or 18. Even at his age he goes more than he used to.

Usually toss the poop bag by the garage on our way back from our walk. Overthrew it last night. Now I have poop on the roof.
