Quoted from ImNotNorm:April 2nd and it's still winter here...
What a great picture!
Quoted from cerberusdog:But as I said before losing a limb for a dog is much different that it would be for us. It is generally easily adapted to especially a rear leg and if the dog is otherwise in good health. FYI...I work in dog rescue. Of course if he trusts his vet have him ask for their recommendation....I am guessing they will vote amputation. For us we chose not to because my dog already has mobility issues ( plates in all 4 legs) and the bone cancer had spread past the leg.
They took her leg on thursday. My brother was going to wait as long as possible, but she tore her skin on tuesday and fortunately she had an appointment with the vet anyways on thursday. By Saturday she was able to get up on her own. Hopefully she gets used to it or added strength as her endurance now is about 100 ft. Must be sad for an active dog to not being able to run. Personally, I would never do it to a dog.
Quoted from PokerJake:Picking up Cosmo on Friday.
For a while I thought you were talking about this
Now you will have to get this pin for your puppy.
Maverick the HEP shop dog is getting close to fully grown.
His colors have really shifted.
Really nice and loving but very mischievous.
He gets into so much in the shop that we have resorted to anchoring him to a 90lb kettlebell while I am working.
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Maverick the HEP shop dog
Still cute
but hardly recognize him
now that he is grown
This is Booker and Bubba our 2 Catahoula's. They have been with us for over a year now. We went to look at puppies (Bubba) and I fell in love with Booker who happened to be a rescue dog from Louisiana. So...we ended up with 2! Booker was caged for the first 2 years of his life and also came to us with heart worm. After a couple of rounds of "chemo" and bed ridden for a few months he is heart worm free!
Quoted from High_End_Pins:resorted to anchoring him to a 90lb kettlebell while I am working.
Don't looked to pleased about the whole thing!
Cute pup
Quoted from zr11990:Wait, that is a pic of a rug.
Hahahah he doesn’t look like a rug anymore now he’s shaved down.
Quoted from mmr61184:Hahahah he doesn’t look like a rug anymore now he’s shaved down.
Aaawwwww, I like the rug look. Put a knitted hat from Jamaica and he could be a Rastapup.

Ha I didn’t intend him to be shaved they cut it too short. I like the Rasta pup look too

Updated pic please
I don't post a lot, but couldn't resist sharing pics of my babies.
The red brindle/white girl is a rescue whippet puppy from South Korea, my blue and white boy is a rescue whippet/iggy mix (both of these dogs were abandoned on the streets); and my black/white iggy girl, also a from a rescue group. Dogs are the best.
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Maverick Fresh from the vet 10 days of the cone ahead.
I think he is not too happy about it now but wait until it comes off and he sees what is missing.
LMFAO. Hilarious!

Poor guy. The last time Charlie was in a cone, it wasn't working out well. It scared the living crap out of Suzy (other dog).
We discovered these inflatable collars. It worked perfectly. Not only was dog Suzy not scared, Charlie was far more comfortable with the inflatable version. And, I have always felt the cones just made sounds much too loud for dogs anyway, making them very nervous. I was really happy Suzy inspired us to find something better for Charlie.
I think this is what we got...

I find a bit of electrical tape folded over the edge of the cone does 2 things:
1- Helps doggo see where the edge of the cone is and run into things less
2- Means the cone cuts up the back of my legs less

Thank you I just sent the wife to get one. Looks much more comfortable for the next 10 days than the plastic funnel.
He looks much better. I'm guessing everybody at your house feels better, too.
Charlie looked a little more awkward with hers. She even had to wear the ugly pink thing that my wife whipped up, to keep Suzy from licking the incision. IMG_20170118_123335 (resized).jpg
Here she is looking a little more dignified.
