Whew with my memory that may as well be 100 years ago. What games were they?

They were 2001 and 4Mil BC and Spin Out

I do remember you having a dog or two, but cant remember exactly
what type other than it was medium to small.

Nice! Even his own little fire hydrant to piss on! Little OTTO likes to piss on my grill and the table the pizza oven stands on.

Thanks. Yes, both dogs do. It's pea gravel so its easy on the paws.

They understand thats the bathroom area. I've seen them playing in the yard and suddenly run over to use the bathroom and then race back to keep playing.

But this is the first time I've taken down the fence around their bathroom. So far so good

Yesterday I took my best buddy Semper for one last walk to the adventure trees, and to where the sidewalk ends before taking him to the vet with my wife to have him put down. He's been there for almost 15 years for me. The least I could do was be with him for one day at the end. I had my kids say goodbye before going off to school. We found out he had cancer around Christmas time. He had a new lease on life with some steroids, but started refusing even the canned food and cheese earlier this week and was clearly not comfortable. We were with him to the end.

My newlywed wife and I picked him up out of a shopping cart in Okinawa Japan and he's been my constant companion since then. Semper was short not for Semper Fido, but for Semper Fidelis and he always was. Miss you bud.

Tonight we had roll reversal. Cooper decided to use the crate we have out for Jackass's recovery.
So Jackass took Cooper's place on the couch.

It's been a sad week leading up to today. We took Pepper to the vet last week to get her checked on and to essentially validate our decision. It didn't make it easier but at least we had the opinion of a professional to justify it, even though we knew deep down it was time. Pepper will be spending her last day with us; just a few more hours until we bring her in for her long rest. We're all so grateful to have these amazing creatures in our lives that when it's time for them to depart the pain strikes so deeply.

Thanks everyone for the support when I posted last. We got to spend another couple months with her and try to prepare, but it never seems to make it easier.

It's never easy mate .
It's the hardest thing to ever do .
If you can , have the vet come to your house so Peppa is as comfortable for as long as possible .
Thoughts and prayers for Pepper , you and your family .

Condolences. Having just gone through this last week I'd recommend the following preparations for their last minutes.

1. Bring a blanket/comfort item that smells like home for them to lie on to supplement whatever is there.
2. If there are any last minute treats they've always wanted, this is the time. I'd have given my dog cigarettes if he asked, but something like a Recese Peanut butter cup they've always been forbidden won't matter.
3. Be there until the end for them if you can.

Finally, pet your dog while you still can.

Took Myka on her first camping trip this week,
also this was to be the first time she would be able
to spend significant time with another dog.
Myka has only met other dogs at the vets and a one time visit to the dog park,
after she completed all her vax shots.
Billy is my camping buddy's dog, Billy is a seasoned camper.
The introduction was a little sketchy at first, as Myka was very timid and skittish;
but Billy was fantastic in not getting freaked by my dog's erratic behavior & actions.
Slowly but surely Myka finally realized that Billy was no threat
and by the end of the day they were buddies.
Myka wanted to play more with Billy, but he was fairly indifferent
Myka is 6 months and Billy almost 8 yrs old.
Billy has a younger sibling ( not pictured) that was left at home,
in part because its behavior is still puppy like despite being nearly 2yrs old.
Maybe the reason Billy was more or less ignoring Myka's invitation to play.

IMG_20230614_073652467 (resized).jpgIMG_20230614_073652467 (resized).jpgIMG_20230614_125032133 (resized).jpgIMG_20230614_125032133 (resized).jpgIMG_20230614_125044023 (resized).jpgIMG_20230614_125044023 (resized).jpgIMG_20230614_125054189 (resized).jpgIMG_20230614_125054189 (resized).jpgIMG_20230614_132438213 (resized).jpgIMG_20230614_132438213 (resized).jpg

Myka is now sacked out on the couch,
probably dreaming of the next time she gets to go camping (July)
and meeting up again with Billy to go on more adventures together

Pepper's last stroll at the Humane society, where we got her, with my little guy. Thank you everyone for the kind words. Our two other dogs at home are in a noticeably somber mood. Watson hasn't eaten as much, and Juniper hasn't been nearly as playful or rambunctious. She's offering extra cuddles when normally she is just concerned with her ball. We can tell that they're affected as well. Thank you everyone again.
