Happy birthday Thea, she is 5 today. Coolest calmest dog I have had, too chilled!

She is missing the other one I had to put down 18 months ago, so have been thinking it’s time we got her a friend.
Luck would have it that a local rescue home for animals happen to have one of the rarest breeds ( Thai Ridgeback) that has a good temperament, I am waiting to hear back from them and luckily my wife works for an equine hospital who does work for them.
He is the black looking one looking straight ahead, need some info on him though. They say he is 1, more like 2 or 3 at least to me. He was a stray from another area that got passed on to them.

Quoted from jorge5240:

Went with a puppy for a christmas present for my parents.
This little guy is so cute, I don’t know if my wife and boys are going to let me give him away.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Well the puppy didn’t last two weeks with my parents. My dad told me they would love a puppy.

I guess no good deed goes unpunished.

But we do have a new addition and our house just now a shit show.

Good on you jorge5240 for taking it over. Looks like a really sweet little one, and I bet she smells lovely except the in-house shitting.

Get well soon Storm, My beagle Jackass had ACL surgery a month ago and he is doing very well. Next moth he will have surgery to correct a birth defect that has been put off twice because he tore both ACLs in the past year.

Yeah, I can tell that injury/surgery is very painful, going to be a rough time for him for the 1st week, I'm guessing. Was that the way for Jackass too??

The good thing is they don't expect the other to go, said, his bones structure is really good and it had to be a traumatic all at once tear. I told him both dogs were after a squirrel on the ground going left and right... so hard turns and the other dog may have slammed into him (think football).

Anyways hopping to see him not in so much pain soon...Animals do well (better than humans) handling pain...so I know this hurts bad right now.

Bernie has been cleared for stairs but has 4 more weeks to go before he is allowed off leash - getting harder to keep him calm outside

With Jack being a Beagle Corgi mix my wife read that he had a 80-90% chance of doing the other leg. And he has proper pain meds.

Surgery went well today. Thought we'd try the cone on so she'd get used to it before bedtime. Daisy is not happy.

Daisy couldn't stand the cone and last night was rough. She's a sneaky licker so this morning we took a set of puppy pajamas I bought last week, cut them in half and wife sewed the back half upside down. Works great. She can't lick her wound, it still allows the wound to breathe and heal and she can squat without taking it off.

We've been using an inflatable tire for our dogs the last 7 years or so. The cone is horrible and the tire is much better and more comfortable in my opinion.
