Old dogs are the best.
Speaking of doxies, it’s unfortunate that blindness is fairly common. Here’s my little Buddy Hunter in one of my favorite moments from last summer when we spent almost an entire day sitting lakeside just relaxing. He’s 13 and has been slowly going blind for a year or two. It’s amazing how he has adapted, still has that spunk and gets around pretty good.

And a great little buddy he is.

My wife's dog is also a Doxie (but he is no mini) he is about 25 lbs, also kind of a dapple.
he is also almost completely blind (cataracts) and nearly deaf.
17 yrs old
Having trouble getting up and down the stairs, on the porch,
so I bought a ramp that is not too steep
to help when Dewey dog has to go outside to pee or poo.
He moves along kinda slow most of the time, sleeping most of the day,
until its dinner time
then he can scramble along fairly well.

With his short legs and old age, he can no long hop up or downstairs.
He can go down a couple of steps, but sometimes his legs fold under,
going up the steps, it is quite the chore without a ramp.
Been that way for about 2 yrs now.
He used to be able to tackle a staircase with 15 steps no problem,
but no longer able to jump on or off couch without the possibility of injuring himself.

I'm 60 ... don't care anymore either
Happy Birthday Ben

Chewy is absolutely adorable! So fuzzy!
For a long time, we never let our dogs up on our furniture. With these two puppies, that all changed, it was the best decision ever. Just like with babies, if they fall asleep on you, you can't move.
Good thing my wife got up and he followed her into the kitchen. My back was starting to get sore

Was just going to pop in and say the same. Work has been rough the last few days, not to mention all of the other things going on worldwide. I can always count on this thread for a pickmeup.
Don't ever feel like you're overposting! Keep them coming!

I can totally relate.
My dog is always more well behaved than my grandkids are.

Are there still states that allow greyhound racing? I know where I grew up in WI, the local track was closed down many many years ago. I guess I never put any thought into it. Thanks for saving the ol guy/gal!
My good friend just came to pick up little Otto because Im travelling to Borås in Sweden, for Borås Classic Pinball Open tomorrow.
First time since I got Otto (his seventh birthday is on March 31) that we will be apart for more than 12 hours. Already miss him, but I know he will have an awesome time with my friend and his dog.
