I've been having this weird problem with my Radical! where this very percussive sound was appearing to displace a lot of the other audio I was supposed to be hearing in the game.

I've noticed it for a couple of weeks, and it was starting to bug me.

I just now found that it was a drop target switch adjusted too close together causing it to close when nearby objects were hit.

A simple adjustment of the contacts eliminated the problem.

Even the easy ones give you a good feeling of accomplishment.

I personally like when the problem lingers for a long time and you do all kinds of unnecessary repairs and then you finally just reseat some ribbon cables and presto!

I fixed my mist ball on BSD and several GI problems on Wh2O last month and I agree. Troubleshooting and fixing a problem is one of the best parts of the hobby.
