    Pinsiders think automotive clear coat will prevent steel balls from dimpling wood, news at 5. We didn't need another thread about this. Take a moment to think about a ball bearing being thrown around with some force versus a thin layer of clear coat. Thought about it? Well, guess what, its not going to do jack. The hardness of the wood? Different story.
