It really depends on the particular game. For example, I don't like AC/DC's music enough to buy the pin, but I would buy the exact same pin if it was re-themed to one of my favorite groups. This is a case where the theme prevented me from buying it. Conversely, sometimes a game is just so much fun that I can look past the theme. WCS would be a good example of this.

Quoted from TheLaw:

... some of the over coloring I have seen is a little much.

Normally I would agree with you, but in his case it fits the theme perfectly. How can you have too much color on a Wizard of Oz pin?

Quoted from blizz81:

Theme might have a bit more play in the "modern" pinball that WOZ is ushering in, what with the display vs an old DMD.

I would agree with this. The theme will be much more "in your face" than it ever has been before.

Quoted from StevenP:

I never will play LOTR because I'm not into that fantasy stuff. Not gonna give Fish Tales a second look because it's too redneck for me. Cirqus Voltaire with all those sissy purple and pink colors and kiddie music? I'll pass. Forget Twilight Zone--who needs a lame old black&white tv show? Wheel of Fortune? Nah, tv game shows are for middle-aged housewives. Etc., etc., etc.

I can certainly understand hating a theme so much that it completely turns you off from the pin. For me, this would be BBH. It could be the greatest game ever made, and I still wouldn't put one in my gameroom.
