When we read for example JJP is using Bally / Williams parts, are they still in production making parts or is it another company making them for them?
Who is making the cabinet for WOZ / Hobbit?

And on a unrelated / related conversation:

This past weekend I went to a casino and played the latest Wizard Of Oz slot machine. I am pretty sure they used the same actors voices as in the pinball machine. I could be wrong, but since the slot was made by Bally / Williams . . .
Here is a link to a Youtube video of it.

I believe that B/W parts are now made under licence by someone else who bought the rights to do so. But I'm happy to be corrected.

B/W does not make parts anymore since they only maintain Intellectual Property rights. I think that only Planetary Pinball and Illinois Pinball are authorized by WMS to make parts. They of course use sub-contractors since WMS did it that way. Planetary and IPB can sub authorize other companies as well with WMS approval. Some replacement parts don't require a license as far as I know. These would be items that replace functional parts (not artwork related). Also, some parts like lens covers and coil sleeves are industry standards and are manufactured without licenses.

I have played that slot machine at Foxwoods. I agree, the witch and Dorothy sound like the same voice actors in the pinball machine.

Once the patents run out (20 years), parts can be reproduced as long as they don't have art or logos; just like auto parts.
