OK, it appears that the bracket's original 2 insert cuts are fine, just with another hole on top, and with the clip holding the coil having a 3rd hole in it. The length from the front of the bracket, where the coil will rest on, to the insert holes centerline is 1-3/4. The small clip has the distance of 5/16" from the place where the coil is set to the holes centerline, meaning that the coil should have a length of 1-7/16. Unfortunately, the coil measures 1-17/32, and thus too long for the standard brackets & clips. Oh, and that coil is Gottlieb one! So what I will need is the proper Bally coil the the clip that holds it in. I'll stiff have an ugly extra hole drilled on the bracket, but it doesn't interfere with the regular use of the proper coil.
