My pinbot will hang on notes at times and do other funny things, primarily on ball #1.

It's likely a cpu thing, but i do have a cap kit from Big Daddy for the sound board.

Does anyone think rebuilding the caps on the sound board does much? I know, likely a stupid question..

If Chris is too busy, you can send my way. Caps are easy and painless.

I just rebuilt my millionaire ps last night. Super easy.

I guess i'm trying to figure out whether it could help my issues or whether thats a slim chance. Kinda feeling lazy i guess. I know it can't hurt..and it's supposed to rain tonight..

Ah, misread your question. I say rebuilt it anyway, no harm no foul.
Doesn't sound like a cap issue to me but you won't hurt anything by putting in new ones.
GRUMPY or frunch can most likely give you pointers which component might be to blame.

    Thanks.

From my research that i've done, it is likely CPU related, which is caps don't correct anything, i'll likely just send out for repair at some point. It's a rare issue that happens, so it's nothing urgent.

Check the SRCs above the battery holder. My Whirlwind was having weird sound issues and I found 2 SRCs with the slightest hint of corrosion when there was no sign of it anywhere else. Just hazy solder pad with a weird look to them. Replaced those and rebuilt my power supply and the sound and random no boot on first attempt has vanished completely.

    I’ll look those over.

So I replaced the 10 or so caps on the board. Also the few I didn’t get to on the ps last year.

Hopefully this intermittent issue goes away.
