Usually that's my last resort when plastics are in danger of being damaged by rubbing.

First, I usually install proctectors, if available. If not, then PETG washers.

Also, if it's a nail that's rubbing (usually in older games to prevent balls from getting trapped), I hammer it in a bit more.

Mylar is usually my last resort since it's doubtful the artwork would survive upon removal, especially for older plastics. But, I have used it in certain cases. It's just not generally my first choice.

    Quoted from Dayhuff:

I've never done plastics but I do mylar brand new drop targets since there stamping usually doesn't last long with the ball hitting them.

    I do the same thing.

    Quoted from zacaj:

I'll sometimes mylar just a corner of a sling plastic if it rests on a screw head of a post.

Wish pbr still made their precut mylar squares for this

I usually cut out a rough shape, stick it to the face, fold over the sides, then use a sharp xacto blade to trim off the excess on the back.

Hmm. Have a brand new Hobbit, with plenty of targets. Should I mylar those up?

    Couldn't hurt.
