I've heard location pins in Portland get a ton of play as well.
Quoted from IdahoRealtor:In case I haven't expressed this b4, I really enjoy and appreciate this thread, and your similar Star Trek thread.
No other operators are sharing this type of thing and it's great to see how well the Sterns and remakes are holding up.
P.s. I'm jealous of your location! Your pins get at massive amount of play, with earnings like the old days. My location pins get maybe 1/3 that amount of action.
Thats why I do IT!!!!
Looks like the chipping of the clear in the edge has gone as far as it will go. No biggie! The catapult ramp screw came loose and I had to rotate the slingshot rubbers. Other than that it's all good to go.
Thanks to PINBALL PRO in Nebraska for sending me some new cleaner and wax. Seems really slippery but doesn't smell as good as turtle wax. We will see how it holds up and I will report back!
By the way. Check out that dimpling

Thanks for all this. Just now seeing this. I have a legit growing business/collection/partnership in Atlanta. I have an AFMRLE alongside 9 Sterns and it does well. I’m now officially gonna look for the King of Payne, and the Rabble Rousers. I have zero issues/concerns about CGC
Quoted from dzoomer:... Maybe it's the optimist in me, but it looks like that MMR is lasting pretty well and is comparable to ST (needs more plays for more data in order to be able to see how it's lasting... and compares)... I'll be interested to see your further updates and especially as it gets to 14k+ plays, to see how it's lasting.
Cheers!

I've been waiting to see your routed MMR get to over 14K plays so we can compare to your routed ST. The routed MMR experience reported here is impressive and much appreciated. Your routed Star Trek thread reported a shop job with a bunch of repairs at 14k plays. The MMR playfield has much more stuff on it and your routed MMR is still working fine and humming along at over 15k plays now with no shop job needed. At this point your MMR is lasting better than your ST. It's a great comparison and excellent news/info!
Thx for all the updates!
Quoted from Crash:Dimpling happened on Medieval Madness, it's wood.
Yes I know. That's why I started these threads. So everyone can see its a normal part of pinball.

I've been very happy with the quality of MMR! I can't believe it hasn't needed a shop job yet but I'm going to keep it going until it breaks big time!
It's still early to call it though, isn't it?
I mean, MM has been around for 20+ years. I saw a routed one that other day that had so many hit on the drawbridge that it look like when you take a lighter to a plastic bottle!
I own a MMR LE (with about 2500 home plays) and I'm planning to hold onto it for many years, so I'm definitely routing for it.
It's good that we have someone like yourself putting this thing to arrive test where it gets loads of plays, and I really hope you keep this going for years. I want to see how it's looking and running a couple of years from now.
Thanks for keeping us posted
Keep this going!!!
Great to see CGCs game holding up real well in the wild. Gives me that much more confidence in my AFMRLE
17,137 plays. Game was shut off because left flipper double flipped. I thought it was an eos switch but turned out to be a wire that had fallen off the coil lug. I resoldered a new eos then decided to rebuild both flippers.
Good thing I did because both shafts were bad and coil stops totally shot. One was so bad I couldn't get the plastic sleeve off.
The swamp kickout was acting up and keep kicking out but turn out to be just dirty optos. Easy fix and back in action.
I found a poorly soldered eos so I took a picture. Not bad but also not great. I also cut my thumb tighting the right flipper.
In the right flipper I also found that the back nut part for the Allen bolts had broken off. This may have been like that for a while but I forgot if it did. I'll have to read back in this thread!
Over $12,000 in income on this and I keep half. $6,000 almost has the game paid off. I like it!

The only damage is the clear coat around the moat and a small spot under the trolls from the metal. There should be some pics somewhere in this thread.
Quoted from delt31:Awesome thread.
How did that pins pro wax work?
I keep forgetting to use it dang it! I will start next time for sure. Things have been hectic and the location owner has been using carnuba wax for us.
Sorry if I missed it, but have you had the “game can’t communicate with playfield” error message ever?
Quoted from ATLpb:Sorry if I missed it, but have you had the “game can’t communicate with playfield” error message ever?
Nope
Has the playfield flattened out from dimpling after 17,000 plays? Not being a wise guy, just curious to see if that was enough or it will take another 17,000.
Although I have an AFMr SE, I want to follow this thread. I've noticed some chipping similar to your issue on my SOL hole with under 150 plays. Happy to see that your machine is still holding up well after so many plays.

I’ll check it out next time. I think it’s getting smoothed out!

Put a cliffy on it ASAP. That hole will get destroyed no matter how good the build quality.
Off topic, but I figured I’d post the damage on my machine after 150 plays.
Cliffy protectors are currently on order.
OP, I can delete this if you’d like.

I appreciate seeing this, and I feel it fits this thread well.
Leave it up, I’ll take a picture to show you what my original attack from mars hole looks like. It’s beaten up A LOT!
Just cracked the 19k plays mark. Everything fine except flipper was being stupid. Just had to clean the optos on the cabinet switch. Also the button itself popped out. Got that fixed up too and good to go.
Oh ya! The ramp metal was bending up so I bent it down and the rubbers next to the ramp entrance were getting bad so I replaced them.
Added a few shots of the playfield. Holding up nicely. Looks like it will be fine for many years to come. I think we should be good to go for quite a while!

Quick question: How often do you replace the actual pinballs - do you do it every X months or X plays?
Quoted from homegameroom:Amazing thread - THANK YOU!

Just whenever they look bad. We order balls 50 at a time. And rotate regularly
Curious, on my MMR the kickout from the castle to the left orbit is pretty violent, wondering if you are seeing any wear on that left orbit kickout, I think it hits the stainless ball guide first but hard to tell in your pic if you have any wear. Thanks, love the thread!!

I anticipated that happened when I bought it new and put a strip of mylar on the kick out and about half the lane. I believe there might be a pic on the first page of those thread!
I got a few pictures of what broken this wee but I forgot to take pictures of the number of plays.
The troll wires broke again. I think the wires are just too thin and break easily.
The switch for the castle lock was also broken off and got replaced with a new one just in case.

Ouch! Man that thing looks really dirty, beat up, and neglected! Looks like it has a million plays on it.
Quoted from Squizz:Holy cow that's a lot of Dimples for 7000 plays.
My original MM that I brought years ago never looked like this, even my AFM.
You can clearly see that the woods used today are no where as good as the wood used back in the late 90's...

It'll smooth out. I have plenty of mid 90s games with playfields that look the same.
Sorry if this information/answer is buried somewhere in this thread. Have you had a shaker installed all this time?

they don't really "smooth out" they average out, right?

No I don't! I probably should though
Quoted from Okarcades:No I don't! I probably should though
Just asking because I think the shaker would cause you more repair issues. I've had screws worked loose from the shaker action and mine's HUO with 10% of the plays you've got. Flipper solenoid bracket screws and left ramp hold down screw. After 19000 games of shaking, well that's enough to make an op start shaking...

Maybe I've been lucky ? Haven't had anything shaking loose on mine since I got it.
LTG : )
I've also had a few bolts come lose and fall out which isn't really a problem in home use since you notice it pretty much right away and can fix it immediately but it is super annoying when your in the middle of usually a good game and the flipper stops working or one of the trolls gets stuck. I think CGC should invest in some locktite it really doesn't cost that much and would save a ton of problems especially for op's that aren't there to catch the problems right away.

Thank God you had that bright light shining perfectly on the playfield at just the right angle because we never would have seen them if you wouldn’t have!

I did it on purpose to show the evolution of a game with tons of plays! Next time I'm up there I will get another shot in similar light.
21,645 plays now! The left troll is broke again! That mechanism sucks! Other than it's all good except....
The damn time and date thing. New batteries don't help but we will try again I guess! Attached are some more pictures.
I guess the pads behind the yellow switches are about worn out too but we always have extra padding so we will put new stuff on next time.
Time to order some more expensive troll assemblys.
Nothing too bad considering it's pulled in over $14,000!

Impressive and thx for the update.
