If you have any links to good documentation I am about do some work on trolls and castle, and want to gather all the info I can before I start. Thanks!

Castle sucks. If you are talking gate/draw bridge assembly.
Trolls simple. The carriage is held by a bolt, unplug the connector, remove the bolt. Grab plunger and slightly twist the troll carriage up and turn and out.
Two screws hold the troll face/leaf blade switch, a fiberboard spacer between it and metal bracket. A plastic thing bolted to the front to keep the troll face blades straight up and down.

So the troll carriage lifts out from the top of the PF? I guess I was just trying to figure out how to deal with the flaps, but if it lifts out that sounds easy.
Yeah I am going to be replacing the drawbridge and linkage. I may wait on this one for a bit as it is functioning fine.. it is just beat up good.

Is easy and quick. Left side remove the habitrail over it.

If you have the moat off, ramps off, most of the castle off. It gets easier.

Up and lean a little to the left so the parts on the carriage clear the hole in the playfield.

So I swapped out the Troll carriage no problem. I managed to blow the troll eye leds because I could not see the resistor buried under all the shrink wrap from the original installer.. awesome. But the bigger problem is that the new carriage seems to have a lot of slop when the troll is in the up position. so when the troll is hit the carriage is moving back and its making it hard to get hits on the troll.. imagine that.. that is exactly what was happening with the broken carriage except it was the troll moving no the carriage.. good times.
anyway long story short, anyone have a trick to getting that carriage solid.. I am thinking a longer coil sleeve might help, but I am not sure.
Is the carriage the problem ? Loose on the collar that fastens to the plunger ?
Right bolt securing the carriage ?
Plunger is two pieces is it tight ?
Correct coil sleeve and installed right and not worn or broken ?

Collar is a snug fit and the bolt has it locked in solid.
Plunger has some play for sure. It looks like a roll pin that holds the two pieces so not sure how much I can do there.
As for the sleeve, it seemed to have a bit of slop so I swapped it for a new one but it's not long enough so I need to get my hands on one that is correct.
My guess is it's the plunger.
