Carefully following the directions, the new smooth lifter kit is assembled in a matter of hours. The hardest bit was measuring twice, before drilling the three 1/4 holes in the bottom of the frame. Getting it squared up was a breeze, with a hammer and a T square. It looks like an engineering marvel that will never be seen below the MPF. I know it already works perfectly, because this is my second one.

Thanks, happy to be of help for the kids!
I pulled my Smooth Lifter Kit out again, to change out the 5 Mushroom Opto Boards (one LED had gone out, error74). So it gave me a chance to photograph the beauty of this wonderful, engineered mechanism. I compared it to screw mech that the new Stern Godzilla Premium uses on their building that goes up and down like Dr. Who. This kit does not wobble to the right anymore and scratch the surround on its way up or scratch the left side on its way down. Perfect. Thanks....

I would like to thank Ulf and Pellew for their generous overseas donation of the smooth lifter kit and controller board. There were a lot of questions when people saw it at our table for the charity auction. Those familiar with the unit were excited to see it available. It did well generating a $500 winning bid and I imagine the list here will grow. Thanks again, the overseas support was fantastic this year and something special like this was wonderful to have in the auction.

Hi,
Prices are up to date in the first post as well as postage prices, you will have to wait for it a couple of month though, I'll send a pm and get back to you when its your turn.
I just got around to opening up my kit, hope to upgrade my elevator soon. I need instructions... for the pastilles. What are these? I can't tell if they're candy or cough drops. And I can't tell if I'm supposed to chew them or suck on them. Or maybe I'm supposed to put them in hot water and make tea?

Use with caution!
I thought the Pastillies were candy cigarettes, like we used to have in the US. Surprised that I actually liked and ate them all quickly. Yumm.

Well, it's available in every supermarket here, take one or two when you want something sweet and smooth to the throat, it's a signed and approved purveyor to the royal court of Sweden product with several flavours, the original is however not particular tasty imo.
Id be happy to ship more if someone wants it, just send me a pm, Australia has been the exception as I been adviced by the customs to avoid including it.
What an awesome mod, thanks Ulf!
My elevator is no longer wibbly-wobbly, but it is timey-wimey! I love having the option to buff the elevator speed. It was a pain juggling the balls while waiting for the elevator to reset after clearing a level before, now it just zips up and down. I was battling Davros my first game with the modded elevator running!

Happy to hear you like it!
Keep in mind that a higher speed means more mass and less reaction time for the over current protection.
Somewhere between 10-12 o'clock on the speed potentiometer seems normal, I have mine set at 11.
Just installed my second one in my Resto Mod Dr. Who. It took several (in and outs) to get the spacing just right at the front, with the 3 pieces of Cliffy metal protecting the MPF. The screws holding the Lifter to the wooden MPF need to be just off middle. The awesomeness of this kit is that there is a carved-out space to make that adjustment, so that there is not a big gap, or it rubs and binds on the front. I doubled a business card as a shim distance when setting mine up.
I am missing a 4-pin plug of wires in my main wiring harness for the MPF Dome flasher lights. 3 red and 1 Yellow with green stripe wires. I am searching for where it got to in the restoration.

Always nice with feedback, been a while since I adjusted mine but I think It should be possible to adjust the mpf with a really long Philips screw driver when it is raised to the top position, I will look in to it and add it to the manual when I update it.
Hope you find that missing plug.

hello
I look forward to it, thank you very much
Can I get added to the list for one of the Smooth Lifter Kits and board please? Are they still available?
Update, some changes to the kit setup and price, the upper linear bearing holder is now MJF printed PA12 GB, the previous FDM printed PC works just fine but it was a lot of work with those, previous kit buyers can purchase the new version as a spare part if they wish, send me a pm.
The modified cam is included in both kit versions now.
A major update of the manual has been made, troubleshooting guide and maintenance section is added plus more.
A big thanks to Tophervette for all contributions and the reviewing of the manual!
My smooth lifter kit arrived and I am overjoyed to build my third one. Thanks ULF! Pictures to follow.
My third ULF smooth lifter kit being built in pictures below. I drilled the 3 holes in the bottom of the frame according to the instructions with use of the template. I squared up the frame with a T-Square and added the bottom block to add rigidity to the frame. I added some black ink to the ULF logos, so they would stand out. But only I will know they are there. The side stiffners attached easily with an Allen Wrench. The action is super smooth with the latest rail system. "This is the way!"

Thanks!
