Hi Guys,

Just wondering if any can help with an issue my Doctor Who is having. It is shutting down and resetting whenever a solenoid is activated, most of the time it does it as soon as the ball is ejected into the shooter lane but sometimes it will let me shoot the ball, then it resets when the up kicker in the Tardis activates.

I've also noticed that when the up kicker activates the upper left flipper also fires by itself.

I am new to diagnosing this type of issue so if you have any suggestions please make things as simple as possible.

This may be way over my head but I'd like to give it a go without paying someone to come and look at it.

Thanks in advance,
Jason

Ok, So I have partially solved this. I was getting ready to remove the board so I could check the solder points on the back and as I was disconnecting connectors I noticed that J101 wasn't connected all the way so I reseated it and powered up the game, hit the flipper and Woohoo, no reset. Had a game and it seemed all good so I turned it off for the night (was getting late).

Next Day I fire it up to test a bit more and on the first game it reset when I hit the left flipper. After that it was fine played for an hour or so and no reset. So there is still a problem there but at least I can play it now.

When I have a bit more time I will remove the board to check the solder connections.

Thanks again to LTG for pointing me to the guide above.

Cheers,
Jason

The screws was one of the first things I checked because it was so easy to check
