Hi,
I'm trying to sort out the serial numbers for the plastics and decals of my DW, to see if anything is missing and reorder/rebuild/reproduce what is broken or damaged.
There are a few things I'm wondering - I'm sure you'll have some answers - and also just wanted to share the gathered info.
I have crossed references from the manual (very few), from the parts list found on ipdb, images and descriptions found online and from looking at the machine directly. Here's what I got so far.
Plastics :
31-1681-1 : left slingshot (spare)
31-1681-2 : right slingshot (spare)
31-1681-3 : left slingshot
31-1681-4 : right slingshot
31-1681-5 : right background with an arrow pointing right
31-1681-6 : right hallway to Tardis
31-1681-7 : just behind Tardis
31-1681-8 : covering hallway behind MPF
31-1681-9 : right inlane/outlane ball guide
31-1681-10 : left inlane/outlane ball guide
31-1681-11 : above escape targets
31-1681-12 : vertical background doc 5
31-1681-13 : above repair targets
31-1681-14 : left background under loop ramp
31-1681-15 : top right playfield border
31-1681-16 : right background "increase transmat faster"
31-1681-17 : left lower playfield border
31-1681-18 : magic motion (not produced)
- I don't know why we can find two different set numbers of slingshots, I had two broken inside the cabinet with numbers 3 and 4 and the two on the playfield are numbered 1 and 2... Did the machines came with a spare kit to replace easily when broken ? In the parts list the 1 and 2 are part of the cashbox assembly.
- the number 8 is referenced here : http://www.bestofpinball.de/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/4642 but on my machine it's number 17
EDIT : found it ! hidden behind the MPF. Must be an error in BOP listing.
- the number 18 was not produced cause it was only present on the old style Bally cabinet prototype, it's all explained here : http://home.comcast.net/~pfutz/UnofficialDoctorWhoPinballHistory/index.html
But it is on the ipdb parts list though, relevant ?!
Decals :
31-1685-1 : repair target (x6)
31-1685-2 : MPF Dalek door (x3)
31-1685-3 : Transmat target
31-1685-4 : MPF center target
31-1686-1 : left loop "cliffhanger"
31-1686-2 : left side of right ramp
31-1686-3 : bottom left on left ramp, on top
31-1686-4 : above repair targets "force field"
31-1686-5 : above repair targets "complete repair..."
31-1686-6 : exterior right side of MPF frame
31-1686-7 : back MPF frame with the Master
31-1686-8 : back top of MPF frame
31-1686-9 : right ramp entrance "start WHO"
31-1686-10 : ?
31-1686-11 : interior right MPF frame
31-1686-12 : exterior left MPF frame
31-1686-13 : interior left MPF frame
31-1686-14 : bottom left MPF frame
31-1686-15 : bottom right MPF frame
31-1686-16 : ?
31-1686-17 : ?
31-1687-1 : ?
31-1687-2 : side of right ramp
31-1687-3 : under right ramp start
31-1687-4 : ?
31-1687-5 : under loop ramp middle end
31-1687-6 : under loop ramp middle start
31-1687-7 : under loop ramp entrance
31-1688-1 : Time expander cover
31-1688-2 : ?
31-1688-3 to 10 : Tardis pieces
31-1708-1 : topper cover front
31-1708-2 : topper cover left
31-1708-3 : topper cover right
- why are the target decals numbered with an "SP" at the end ? (on my machine but not on the parts list) It's the same with the 3 decals on my topper cover.
- I'm missing some decals, do you have an idea what they are ?
Maybe I'll put some picture for everything - if I am patient enough - when I'll tear down the playfield for cleaning/restoration.
