You should check out a Godzilla Premium or LE... it has a building mech that rises up and down in the playfield. Not exactly the same as Doctor Who, but it's a really cool game, and if you are worried about reliability / being a first time owner, it might be a better option for you.
I love Doctor Who, but yeah, that mech is going to break at some point. Then it will break again, haha. Good luck
