I was awake at 3:37 a.m. last morning thinking about this so I had to create a poll.

    #2 7 years ago

I never wash my hands, but I use a power washer to spray down the machine after I'm through playing.

    #3 7 years ago

    Before never, after sometimes.....

    #4 7 years ago

You left out "Frequently" as an option, so I can't vote.

I keep the glass, flipper buttons and flipper area (stealth protectors on most) clean with Stoner Glass cleaner. Stuff works great.

Only after eating or if hands are greasy or sticky.

    #6 7 years ago

bring some sanitizer when I play in the wild.

Man, I thought I was the only one up in the middle of the night because my mind was thinking about silly crap.

Only if my hands are dirty or I just ate. I'd say about 1 in 3 before I play.

before and after. plus wipe down the buttons and lockdown bars regularly. no food or kids allowed, beer ok. i like to keep my games clean.

    #10 7 years ago

At bars I pee, play pins, and eat, then play more pins in that order. No washing necessary

    #11 7 years ago

I never before, but always after. Snotty kids playing the games, less than hygenic friend ass scratching while banging away on IM, cat walking all over them sneezing with litter box touched paws.....those machines are a germ-fest

    #12 7 years ago

We keep hand sanitizer in the game room, people tend to use it if it is available, so we always have a bottle centrally located where everyone can see it. It is a bigger concern in the winter with colds and flu flourishing. So I guess that is the same as washing.

    #13 7 years ago

When I think I might play like crap....

I wash my hands before and after I eat, and after I use the rest room. So no, I really dont worry about it. However if I have been shopping out a machine, or just had ribs, yes I would wash before I play.

    +1. Lava liquid soap

+1 I agree, some pins flipper buttons are gross. Replacing those buttons are always on my shop list....I am always supprised when someone tells me they shopped a game and the buttons are nasty.

    #16 7 years ago

More importantly, I wash my hands after playing machines in the wild.

    #17 7 years ago

    I wash after I play

    #18 7 years ago

    you were up too, Bill?

    #19 7 years ago

This pic changed my perspective Ill go with "always"

    #20 7 years ago

after, yes. cuz peoples hands are gross.

    #21 7 years ago

I wash my hands frequently. Pinball has nothing to do with it

    I agree.

However, I will randomly walk up to one of my pins and start playing without thinking about washing my hands. I would never eat or anything after playing one in public though.

The only germs on my pins are from me or my wife.

I wash my hands before and after playing pinball, or I use purell, even in my own gameroom.

    #24 7 years ago

Man everyone here seems like a germaphobe. I'm a plumber and wash my hands not even half as often as some of you. Never get sick tho. My body must of built a good immune system not using Purell all the time.

    #25 7 years ago

Always wash after, home pins or arcade, you never know what germs are around.

^This (unless playing on location, then I'll always wash the mitts).

    #27 7 years ago

    My immunities are impregnable

    #28 7 years ago

I actually have a bucket of chum and grease that I dunk my hands in before playing to keep the buttons and plunger action nice and smooth.

    #29 7 years ago

I always make ppl wash their hands before playing my pins. I am not worried about germs though I dont want my flipper buttons sticky or dirty thats why. Its all about keeping the pin clean.. And for me yea I wash my hands before I play normally scrubbing the THC off my fingers from the bowls I packed to get my head right.

    Bizarre thread.

    #31 7 years ago

    #34 7 years ago

If I'm at a show, I wash my hands ALL THE TIME.

    #35 7 years ago

Almost all situations I use gloves.

Hmm interesting.. Second person I have heard of this from.. Makes me wonder if it's somewhat common in tournaments and if anyone has started a thread about the best pin gloves. Haha I'm amused now have to go check

..yep 3 topics about pin gloves

    #38 4 years ago

Well it took 2 years but I finally voted..

    #39 4 years ago

I'm one of the glove users. As I have some fully chromed some powder coated. It just makes cleaning that bit easier and no sweaty flipper buttons when the adrenalines running on IMVE. Lol

    #40 4 years ago

I keep a set of velvet gloves that i make all people wear while playing my games

    #41 4 years ago

No...but I heard that Howard Hughes used to wash his hands before he played his Bagatelle.

    #42 4 years ago

I do, and always have. I find there is always a bit of something there, and I like the best grip when shaking the shit out of them I don't ever what to smack my chin off the lockdown bar because of an oily hand.
