I've spoken with some folks in the pinball world and I hear that the collectors and hobbyists like to play in their basements instead of supporting local businesses/operators/locations. I think it's a crime to not support businesses that provide options to spice up your fun by playing machines not in your basement. How many of you all go out and what frequency do you visit machines on location?

    Quoted from LTG:

A lot of people have games at home because lack of pins to play in their area disappeared, or weren't kept up.
Once habits changed, they are hard to change. Even if there are pins to play near you that are kept up.

I'm lucky to have some great options in chicagoland.

I went to some locations near me. Oddysey fun world in tinley park does not do a good job maintaining their pins. Chicago Street Pinball Arcade keeps some very nice pins. When something is broke it rarely goes more than a week before it is fixed. I try to go visit that place a couple of times a month. After seeing a bad location and seeing a good location it's like night and day. I thank my lucky stars for having a nice place to play.

    Quoted from pinsanity:

Most of the last remaining sited pins in my area are single unkept machines pushed into a back unlit corner of the local pubs, so you really have to be committed to hunting them down in order to play.
It's a bit of a vicious circle scenario, ops won't maintain them as they don't make coin, and players won't put coin into them as they aren't maintained.
7 weeks it took for this to be fixed from the date of notification to the operator and I am only a 10 minute drive from the State capital and their office/workshop. In the meantime the coinbox took nothing.

    Holy cow! What a situation.
