I'm a big fan of SP and Ministry. I followed the path from dark wave to industrial in the late 80s.

I assume Trent was influenced by Dark/New Wave in the 80s. He was in a band called the problems (I think that was it) that has a scene in the movie "Light of Day". The band was very new wave

I always thought of industrial as a punk/wave hybrid

Oh yeah!
As far as the Cure is concerned, the first album will always be the best for me. Killing an Arab, etc...
I remember it was only available as an import.

My favorite Cure album is Pornography. Such loud dark music

Other great Industrial bands:
KMFDM ++
Genitorturers +++

I'll throw in Scraping Foetus Off the Wheel but I don't know if that's really industrial

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Saw Ministry last week. Good show. Al was kinda grumpy and forced the audience to listen to his entire new album before getting to "the hits" and then condescendingly said we were all gonna get some "dog treats for being good" at the end with "90s nostalgia." His wig looked amazing!
I really don't know their stuff so I didn't give a shit, kinda all sounded the same to me. The crowd was kind of thirsty for the hits though.
So that's what you are gonna get if you go see them. Plus lots of pictures of trump morphing into HItler.
Enjoy!

I saw them in march and it was amazing. Al was fired up and they played a good assortment of songs. The opening band on the other hand should be ashamed of what they do. So very bad.
