Discovered this obscure band from the early/mid 80s recently "Burning skies of elysium", they were from a town (Horley) which was near where the Cure were from originally (Crawley).
Vocals sound like Ian Astbury & the music the Cure. Brilliant album, I don't know how this band remained virtually unknown.

I’m in, The Cure is my favorite and still worth catching in concert if you can. It sounds like you are still buying CD’s which is great, but really slows down the new music train. I got a Spotify Premium subscription this fall and it really opened the door for new bands, and new songs of old bands. Other favorites are Love and Rockets, Marcy Playground, Mazzy Star, Robyn Hitchcock, Pale Waves, Jesus and Mary Chain.....
Love all these bands but maybe represent some of the goth dance (darkwave) music as well.

I hear what you’re saying about new songs but I’m one who may not like something on a fist listen and I need to listen to something dozens of times to get a feel. Plus album composition does something that you can’t get from the radio or greatest hits album.
I’m old enough to have grown up with records recall listening to Ziggy Stardust and lots of the Black Sabbath albums front to back not to mention Pink Floyd, Doors, Stones etc.

Left metal in late 80s and branched into Butthole Surfers, The Melvins, Ministry, Revolting Cocks, NIN, Nirvana, Mudhoney, Tad, etc...
Ministry at lalapoluza 92 Vancouver was easily top 5 shows I've seen.
Saw Ministry last week. Good show. Al was kinda grumpy and forced the audience to listen to his entire new album before getting to "the hits" and then condescendingly said we were all gonna get some "dog treats for being good" at the end with "90s nostalgia." His wig looked amazing!
I really don't know their stuff so I didn't give a shit, kinda all sounded the same to me. The crowd was kind of thirsty for the hits though.
So that's what you are gonna get if you go see them. Plus lots of pictures of trump morphing into HItler.

Gary Numan has been making great music for decades now. The Fall is a fantastic track and probably my fave too. Fave overall album is probably Strange Charm that's got alot of great 80s synth in it and really dig the first track, My Breathing.

I saw them in march and it was amazing. Al was fired up and they played a good assortment of songs. The opening band on the other hand should be ashamed of what they do. So very bad.

If you like the Sisters of Mercy, Andrew Eldritche's side project "Sisterhood" - gift album is pretty good if you haven't heard it.

They opened for them at a concert I went to. The skinny dude with the dark hair in the Gidget Goes to Hell video was the head DJ and program director at KNAC radio and we partied with him at the gig. That Alfa Romeo in the video was his and he asked me how to keep it running. lol. He was cool.

I was just listening to Janitor, (the other clip with the captions) great song, Su Tissue’s hair, vocal style, lyrics & her look is brilliant. I can see some similarities to Siouxsie & the banchees too.
Has got me wondering what happened to her as others are. Any idea?
They did perform Janitor on SNL once I believe. Other 'hits' of theirs were Flying Saucer Safari , Green Eyes, and Flavor Crystals.
Yeah, Su Tissue was a babe! Looking back I feel lucky I went to so many of these gigs, but it's just something we did. Small clubs, cheap tickets, and local made it easy.
I never kept track once the scene started to go away, but again wiki seems to have some info on them.
I did however find out what happened to my old DJ buddy that used to let me come in the station and pick records on occasion.
Looks like he's in New York now. Once again, google is our friend.

No Remorse for the Dead from LOG is another good one. The lyrics tend to get redundant but the guitar, drums and composition is tight as hell.

Yup, another Numanoid here as well. Have all his CD's going back to Exile except for the two remixes in 2008 & 2009.
Never had the chance to see him in concert, not many good concerts in Omaha.
His "My name is ruin" video is pretty good. That's his daughter performing in the video if I remember correctly.

Front 242, Front Line Assembly and Click Click....(in my opinion) the top 3 Industrial bands in the early days.
I bought a good supply of CDs but haven’t listened to all yet. I really like The Cure Disintegration album. I realize it’s not in the genre but also bought Alice In Chains ‘Dirt’ which is supposed to be darker grunge. It’s ok but I’m not really as much of a fan of that type as it seems the actual old goth music (dark wave etc.)
Was reading about goth apparently music may have first been describe as gothic was The Doors (such as he song ‘the end’ ‘Strange days’ etc).

Ahhh... so happy to have stumbled upon this thread!!! Love the old industrial scene, my favs are Front 242 early Ministry and Nitzerebb. Goth- Sisters of Mercy and Bauhaus.
If you are in the US, check out the annual Cold Waves festival in Chicago. This year was also in NYC and LA, but not sure if they are going outside of Chicago for next year. In the UK check out the annual Infest festival.
Honestly, a lot of the 'new' industrial music is a bit guitar/metal heavy for me, I like the 80s/early 90s stuff along with 'alternative music' that may not necessarily fall into Industrial: ie The Cure, Depeche Mode, OMD, PIL, Joy Division, New Order, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Jane's Addiction, Tones on Tail, Foetus, Thrill Kill Cult, Recoil, Rage against the machine, Porno for pyros, NIN and The Damned.
Some punk (not hard core): Early Stranglers, Ramones, Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedy's, Dead Milkman, The Damned, The Clash, The Cramps, Rancid, SNFU.
Also into other styles of music, but for the past 10 years been really into Trip-hop: Massive Attack, Tricky, and Portishead.
