One thing you may want to do is get your Vit D levels checked. It is a theory that this is the reason why winter is more aggressive with contamination.

Read this.

It's only a matter of time until another one comes out.

Quoted from o-din:

And what could possibly go wrong here?
"One group of researchers recovered the virus from the bodies of frozen victims, and found that transfection in animals caused a rapid progressive respiratory failure and death through a cytokine storm (overreaction of the body's immune system)."

That is why that strain killed mostly healthy young adults. Their own bodies reacted so strongly to fight it that it caused death (cytokine). The fear is that one of the bird types or more serious ones will transmit to humans.

And for those of you that are over 50 and have NOT had a colonoscopy, my father has stage IV and just finished his first round of Chemo. And....he never had one which is something I assumed he did.

I get the flu shot every year and for the first time in a long time, I got the flu last year.

However, it was over very quickly, my fever only lasted 24 hours. My physician believes it was probably due to the fact that I had the flu shot which helped. In years past when I got the flu, I was out for over a week.

Get it.

Quoted from ccbiggsoo7:

maybe because a dr. can properly diagnose a illness and give you the appropriate meds to fight the infection. A flus shot is a educated guess...… that 90% of the time is wrong.

This is simply not true. Most primary diagnosis are based on a system of hierarchy assumptions, and are many times incorrect. The vaccine protects more than 10%, as seen from a few years ago when they did get it wrong and there were many more deaths.

Quoted from TheLaw:

Well I got my flu shot yesterday, and my dad died of bladder cancer a couple weeks ago; I guess I'm supposed to believe these are not related?!

Sorry to hear about your father.

Quoted from o-din:

If I get bit by a rattlesnake, I am willing to let them shoot me up with the antidote.

Why though? I've heard big Pharma is making a mint on rattlesnake antidotes.

Quoted from RWH:

Anyone who cannot recognize the absolute number of lives that have been saved since the advent of vaccines is well, just plain being purposely obtuse to the world around them and will never change their opinion. Do vaccines sometimes go awry, certainly, nothing, "NOTHING" is 100% sure and safe as each individual is just that, unique, so seeing some react badly to vaccines is a no brainer and is to be expected. Would love to be a fly on the wall when some of the conspiracy people get diagnosed with a potential life ending threat and see how many actually refuse to be treated. I think it may be very educational to say the least.

That's when they seek alternative treatments and die real quick.

Fascinating dialog, agree that you can trust, but need to verify. The Government STILL to this day perpetuates disease over science when it embraces and recommends meat/dairy for basic nutritional guidelines, despite the science that has it linked to cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, etc. Yet it still forces schools to offer foods that are known to cause a multitude of health risks, only because of the lobbying power of those industries.

But at the end of the day, it comes down to do I trust people who have studied medicine for years, or a bunch of pinball guys I've never met, talking on the internet?

Quoted from DRDAVE:

Do you trust critical thinkers or the paid to lie and or indoctrinated?

Tell me what the difference is between a critical thinker and someone who is indoctrinated. Better yet, who makes that subjective call.

Obviously when someone who is paid by the American Meat Association stands up in front of the Committee that decides what school lunch guildeles are set at, and says that legumes are not an adequate source for protein, yes it's easy to say they are paid to lie.

However, I have no time for the anti-vaccinators. And yes, I have a personal interest as my son is Autistic and the damage that Jenny McCarthy and those who think like her did to our cause can't be measured.

Quoted from madtown:

When vaccines are 100% safe AND effective... i will take them but they are not, nor will they ever be....so in this specific case, i am willing to risk nothing to help others...ironic considering i work in the healthcare field and put my life at risk to help others.

How can you not get vaccinated if you work in health care? I thought it was mandatory.

#1801 4 years ago
Quoted from madtown:

Vaccines are optional where i work. They ask if i want them. I say no.

Do you actually come face to face with patients, or are you in admin or billing?

#1942 4 years ago
Quoted from madtown:

A better question would be, because you decided that, should everyone also have the same opinion or be forced to vaccinate? Because i personally dont worry about getting; the flu, pertussis, rubella, mumps, measles, polio, ebola, hepatitis, ect.

I applaud you for being civil and stating your opinion well. You're absolutely correct when you say that Hospitals and Health Care in general are one of the leading causes of death. Also agree about the danger of medications. Ibuprofen kills thousands each year.

However, not sure you are now worried about getting influenza. It can strike anyone.
