Quoted from SadSack:
We all have a choice. You choose security and money. To think otherwise has an obvious cost. I understand completely. I question the inconspicuous cost.
True....it's a requirement of where I choose to work, and in alignment with my discipline.
Suspect an analogy would be if you choose to be a law enforcement officer, it comes with the risk of getting shot/ killed. The industry has tried very hard (some efforts better than others) to minimize this risk. Except generally, you would be the only one getting shot.
If you work around sick people all day, The Healthcare system has attempted (sometimes more successful than not) to protect its employees, family and anyone they come in contact with.
This should speak volumes to those wondering if they need the shot. Nothing is 100%, and the vaccine is no guarantee if you get exposed. You are, however, 100% guaranteed to be unprotected from any strains you come in contact with if you don't get one, and very real potential of spreading it to others. Remember, it's mostly airborne, so washing your hands isn't going to help.
Don't watch commercials..check the # (tens of thousands every year) who die from this stuff. Just not worth risking it. Get the shot....move on...
